The land of grey peas and bacon

I'm in a really contented good mood today...did the Christmas food shop at 8am was out by 9 this morning. I had the most wonderful weekend with family and a one day work week this week. Then it's Christmas and spending it with my folks and boxing in my tod but I don't mind that...

How are you guys today?

I was out at my volunteering at 7am - was easier when I was working am sure

But lots of lovely oldies shopped for and delivered too and I resisted all the offers of a 'little glass of sherry'

Back out to do it all again tomorrow

I can finally relax as we have been over the fracture clinic and had my little guys temp cast off and he doesn't need a full one. So relieved.

I also managed to get a last minute Xmas present that has been out if stock everywhere for ages.

Got some friends coming round tonight for a natter.

Can't wait for Xmas eve as we have Xmas movies, puzzles and books to keep us busy till bedtime!! X

Working until Xmas eve, then seeing friends that night and Xmas with family, which should cheer me up. Just have to make sure I don't over-do it on the mince pies and chocolates now that diet and exercise are starting to have an effect.

It's the best kind of reward helping others you get a great sense of satisfaction and you are doing something for the old folk...some don't have company so even as little as 10 minutes lifts their sprits

All the shopping has been done. I have presents to wrap and some ironing to do but I'm ignoring that until White Christmas finishes shortly.

Trying to shake off a nasty cold. Have some shopping to do tomorrow but pretty much done for Christmas thankfully. I don't buy loads of food as so much gets wasted.

We've both got the whole week off work. That's as good as it gets. Unfortunately crystal has the flu and has slept pretty much all day. And I'm destroyed from running the Portsmouth marathon yesterday and can barely move. We are supposed to be en-route to Newcastle tonight to go and see the Body World exhibition tomorrow but not a chance of that!

i could be mad, angry, pissed off, but i will not let work bother me

(well i'll try not too)

So i've decided to be content and happy.. despite the fridge freezer going tits up and being a bit poorly (eye infection and blocked ears) i have done the party nibbles for my daughters birthday and found her the ultimate choc cake.. (was getting her a frozen one made but the lady fell ill..)

The only things I'm buying extra to normal are the turkey and something for pudding.

Had a really good day today, ticked a load of boxes ready for new year. Chilling.

Knackered. Grumpy. Waiting eagerly for January.

Husband has a stomach bug. Kids were sick a couple of days ago. Today I really enjoyed sitting on the floor in a clothes shop for 25 mins with one because he refused to move.

Wall to wall fights and meltdowns here.

The highlight was being told he does not appreciate being shouted at when he hits me. Dead serious, he says;

"I have an idea. We are going to practice. I will hit you and you have to not shout at me. Then I will get you a present."

I tried to explain that we need to find a way to stop the hitting AND the shouting. But he wouldn't listen/let me interrupt.

Then he hit me. I was so gobsmacked he actually did it, he smiled and said "well done, you didn't shout" and went and presented me with one of his toys as a reward."

My brain hurts. HURTS!!!

Try using his logic on him - if you don't hit me I will give you a present. Have some handy, healthy snacks ready for this. I know it sounds like training a dog but sometimes it works.

Hope you know what I mean here but that reads really sweet to me obviously not you getting a thump but its inercant. Sorry I know what I mean. Im trying to cope and support a newly hormonal 12 yr old little lady whos taking thing out on her mum and her partner who obviously with a clear head love the bones of my little princess every bit as much as I do. How does a dad explain female mood swing to his little girl

I use this technique already. He's copying it from me.

He doesn't have any understanding of his social identity. He thinks he's an adult which makes it harder.
