My proposal is that people who read a lot make far better lovers;they are more creative, expressive and erotically sensual. In my opinion. (I'm writing this sat at my desk in my library room...) |

"Have any evidence to back this claim up or is it from experience "
From my somewhat small sample survey it has been true. The two ends of the spectrum this far have revealed that the woman who lectured in English literature was amazingly good in bed and very creative. She was the one who introduced me to this site. An ex who never read a book was missionary only. . |

"I read viz "
That gets my vote!
Re the OP. I've met well read men, and I've met not so well read men. And I've found that the quality of sex has not been connected to that. Why would it be? Surely someone who spends a lot of time reading is going to be very good at reading, whereas someone who spends a lot of time shagging is more likely to be good at shagging. |

Well perhaps the difference is down to whether sex is a purely physical experience or a creative and imaginative escape. I think good sex takes place in the mind more than the body and reading expands the mind, therefore, I stand by my hypothesis. |

Doing both at the same time means they're good at multi-tasking |

Ah that's fair enough. I meet for sex, not discourse. Although some pillow talk is good, in between sessions. |

I agree but surely there is some communication before and during that adds to it?

This sounds a far more sensible argument! |

My communication is done on here. When the clothes are off I find a man who quotes Tolstoy and Descartes a tad trying. |

from an opinion to a hypothesis in 13 minutes, not bad going OP..
whilst reading etc does broaden the mind, if the reader has the personality and sexual prowess of a wet dish cloth then they could be a devotee of the most erotic literature ever to have been scribed but will still be a poor lover..
look at the amount of 'dominant' males post 50 shades, it doesn't always tally..
good sex is good sex yes but it can happen between two or more people regardless of their literary knowledge..

I don't think people would be quoting from texts they have read, really. Perhaps you are being slightly literal in your connection between reading and sex. I would find someone who didn't say a word during sex to be less fun. That's just my opinion. |

And I would find someone who talked incessantly during sex to be less fun. Someone doesn't need to be well read to be good at conversation and sex, although I find the more well read men think they are. |

Haha. Made me laugh anyway.
Readers are absorbers i think, but can get imaginative given the right stimulus. |

"The truth of the matter was all I was hoping was for a librarian on here to undo her hair, shake it free, take off her glasses.... you get the picture. I apologise for liking books and sex and therefore being wrong"
You see, I would expect someone who considered themselves well read and with huge sexual prowess not to pout because people disagreed with them. Stating an opinion is fine. Saying that others opinions are wrong is less fine, but still your prerogative. However you must be prepared for people to disagree with you on here.
By the way, I am happy to do a blind comparison. 100 well read men, and 100 not so well read men, please report to my profile and I'll test you all individually. |

I am quite happy for people to disagree, and enjoy the debate. I just find your arguments a tad literal. They don't really follow. It doesn't have to be you read therefore you are a pretentious jibber jabber. Telling me I'm pouting too because I don't agree with what you say seems odd. More than happy to discuss intelligently.
Enjoy your experiment |

Well i thought it was a jokey statement, because of the 'sitting here in my library' bit at the end.
You haven't actually backed up why you think this, or if anyone else thinks the same as you and has tested it out. If you want to start a debate then you need to try and posit some facts. |

It was a joke, sorry, side-tracked by the suggestion I would quote classic literature incessantly and it would be better off silent which seems a bit of a bizarre concept to me. I don't actually have a library, but I do have shelves with books on. Some of them don't have pictures. And a couple fo them may even be poetry. I also don't have leather elbow patches, just for the record. I posted my fact- from my small sample of field research, one woman (Teaches English Lit at Uni) is wild and passionate- another who once said she could never understand why anyone would read, was very vanilla. That is proof positive surely??? |

Quality book - difficult to believe he would live his life by the roll of a dice but brilliant to read about! |
