Does this phrase wind anyone else up?
Whilst I do wish those of you who follow Judaism, Chag Urim Sameach, it still should be Merry Christmas.
Heck, I wouldn't mind, "Happy Christmas or Hanukkah". But happy holidays sounds like something you say to your mum and dad, they day before they go to Greece for 2 weeks. |

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
In that there America place they also have Kwanzaa, plus the other Eid falls around this time of year as well.
It's Chanukah now though. It's Christmas from Wednesday as far as I'm concerned.
However, I don't use the happy holidays as that sounds like going away for a little break somewhere.

I use happy holidays and merry christmas. I'm on my holidays at the moment and I'm happy so last night when I bought a round we raised our glasses and said happy holidays. No one seemed to mind. |

This creeping Americanisation annoys the hell out of me to be honest
I grew up in an ethnically diverse neighbourhood and Sikhs. muslims, hindus etc were all Happy to wish people Happy Christmas and I only omit Jewish people from this as I was not aware of any neighbour's Jewish beliefs
Anyway I avoid causing upset by replying in kind to any good wishes I receive and otherwise stick to a neutral "Season's Greetings" |

So everyone who insists on saying merry Christmas will be celebrating in a traditionally Christian way? I think it's a holiday season, don't really care what people call it. Just remember Jesus. Unless you don't do Jesus. In which case, happy holidays. Next someone will tell me Easter isn't about chocolate eggs |
