Because, although Turkey originates from North America they were actually introduced in England by Turkish traders.

Almost.

Turkish traders would bring a similar looking bird from India to the Christmas and Easter fayres.

When white people went to North America the bird we now call a turkey looked similar to the Indian bird but was larger and they thought it was just another turkey bird.

"olive oil, its better for you."

Only if you eat it cold. Heated up, it's a sort of trans fat and has a low smoke point so doesn't fry anything well.

Besides, it's the potatoes that are bad for you, not the fat.

Ok, you believe your doctor, I'll continue to read the research I have for the past 10 years that clearly states good quality, saturated fat is absolutely necessary for humans and you carry on eating altered food.

"olive oil, its better for you.

Only if you eat it cold. Heated up, it's a sort of trans fat and has a low smoke point so doesn't fry anything well.

Besides, it's the potatoes that are bad for you, not the fat.

No fat is very bad for you, my doctor told me and is always telling me.

Ok, you believe your doctor, I'll continue to read the research I have for the past 10 years that clearly states good quality, saturated fat is absolutely necessary for humans and you carry on eating altered food.

Not if you have diabetes and high cholesterol,.

But from the Telegraph "recent studies have shown that diets which are low in saturated fat do not lower cholesterol or prevent heart disease""

Yeah so why don't my doctors and nurses say that then.

"I'll trust a nutritional expert over a doc' or a nurse.

It's more to do with the right kind of fats as opposed to the black and white opinion of fat vs non-fat.

I don't know all of the science behind it yet, I'm only just starting out on the learning of nutrition for my personal trainers course but there's definitely a need to have some fat in your diet, it's just getting the right kind in.

Fats are good for you. The brain is 60% fat. Fats are essential to maintain brain performance. Anyway, slim people eat fatty food too. Overweight people just eat too much food for their metabolism, it's not necessarily too much fat.

Fat people eat fatty food - what does that mean? Are you suggesting slim people don't eat fatty food? I don't see what point you are trying to make especially since I was pointing out that diets low in saturated fat do not lower cholesterol or prevent heart disease. Nothing at all to do with body shape.

No so. Fat people tend to eat too much food. Also Fat is not fattening. Sugar is far more fattening. Fat people who don't want to be fat think if they eat low fat food they will get less fat but in fact the extra sugar added to low fat food to make it taste better makes them even fatter.
