I was in an epic car crash this week which left me with broken ribs and concussion which has killed me having any real fun over the Xmas period. This was thanks to a d*unk driver who hit the car I was in so hard he flipped us.
So please everyone however tempting some may find it to get behind the wheel after one extra pint or glass of wine than normal don't do it because you could regret it for the rest of your life.
Sorry for the preaching. |

Sounds like a terrible experience , I'm glad you are all okish. Rest and hopefully you'll be back to normal soon. Not nice anytime of year, but especially now. I hope they caught the driver who crashed into you - I detest drink driving. No need for it at all. |

Sorry to hear that. Glad I just don't risk it, not even one. But its a shame others are not the same.
It's mad, I remember drink driving became so socially unacceptable in the 90s/early 2000's but it seems to have become an ok thing to do again which is so so wrong. Maybe its because phones and driving are now the socially unacceptable thing that drinking is ok again |

"Why was the crash Epic? Not a word I would use to describe a crash...anyhoo hope you get better soon... "
My heads still a bit all over the place epic sounded right at time of typing but I guess thinking about it not the most appropriate word |

I second this. I work for the ambulance service and have seen first hand the devastation drink driving causes. |

Out of interest, do you know how much over the limit the driver was. |

Broken ribs really suck, I hope you're feeling better soon and that it doesn't put too much of a damper on your Christmas.
I hate drink drivers, the penalties should be much tougher. |

On about drink drivers my gripe is with d*unk pedestrians. In March this year a day of one of the welsh internationals, one of my best friends was driving home from work about 1am as she works in a bar, the road is a dual with national speed limit and along one side of the road is a massive pavement yet the road is dark, she hit a 21 year old lad who was walking in the middle of the road pissed and off his face on M Kat. She hadn't been drinking hadn't been on her phone the police checked all these details and had both her car and phone for months, luckily the boy came out of the coma despite having massive head injuries and is now fine back working back in the gym back taking drugs on the weekend and partying. My friend couldn't get in her car for months without having panic attacks, still does, couldn't sleep, and despite the inquest saying it was just accident no dangerous driving or nothing, the boy and his family are trying to take my friend to civil court even though he was pissed walking in the middle of the road in pitch black on a dual carriageway. |

Thus just reminded me,a few years ago I swerved to avoid a body in the road after midnight,I call the fuzz and all they were bothered about was who was I. I had to rudely tell them if they didn't hurry up there was gonna be a squashed dead body in the road.
I had to swerve to avoid it and nearly lost control of my car, there us ditches either side of the road so it wouldn't of been pretty. If I had if gone back or stopped etc I guarantee some cunt would of stopped and thought I had ironed the victim out.
All because of drink too they were conked out... |

I have to say drinken pedestrians are a huge issue and are terribly dangerous for drivers. But we have to ensure drivers don't drink and drive. My accident could have been a lot worse and I'm incredibly lucky. I wish I could post pics of the wreckage on here but I gave some on Instagram if anyone is interested |

My daughter called me yesterday in a panic as an accident had happened near to me, and she had few details - just that a woman had been killed.
A young girl, 16, had been hit, and killed, by two vehicles on her way to college.
No drink was involved, and like a message earlier my thoughts go out to her family, but also to the drivers. |

Poor you. Hope you recover quickly. With the changes in Scotland, many people have realised how little it takes to put you over the limit. Rule of thumb should be don't have any alcohol if you're driving, including the following day. |

I had an overseas car driver pull out blind from behind a lorry and hit me head on, writing off my car. It's a terrible experience and you need to take it easy, as the shock is also a major thing to deal with, as well as the injuries.
I think drink driving is much lower now, than goodness, than it used to be. |

At 3 pints and 3 whiskys that would at at least 2 times the English limit and at least 3 timed the new Scottish limit.
And that assumes what he told the police is true (normally you can add at least half as much again). There is no way the guy didn't know he was well over the limit when he got into his car. Totally irresponsible. |

I remember when I first started driving that drinking after having 6 pints was the accepted level and the only time people tutted was if you were staggering to the car.
Seems funny now but then again you could smoke on a tristar plane as well, but not on takeoff which seemed odd as that was the most nerve racking bit |

Back then though there was nowhere near as many cars on the road as there is now! |

Speaking as someone who cuts people out of cars, it partly less stupidly. Partly because cars are built like fortresses now! |
