Often people start a thread about world events, particular comedians or prominent people. These in turn become argumentative over politics and I for one enjoy them. I doubt whether anyone will change my views and I doubt if I will change anyone else's. I do think I increase my view of what someothers believe.

Inevitably someone says you shouldn't have such discussions on a sex site. What do you think?

Would be well boring in here if all anyone talked about was sex.

It's a lounge, and this is what they're for- talking about anything and everything that doesn't have it's own section.

We agree, it's good to have a discussion about anything and everything, whether it includes sex or not. It keeps us interested, we love the forum.

We like reading about all sorts.

If it was just sex we probably wouldn't come on as much.

This

I'd get bored very quickly talking about sex.

This isn't a site that has absolutely every breath, moment, thought and discussion that must be about sex though and the Lounge, in particular, is for the discussion of anything that's allowed by the Fab forum rules. It's the ideal place for non-swinging and sex discussions, amongst some that will be about sexual aspects of life.

It's useful, as Fab is made up of a huge variety of people, many of us tend to be willing to think and give an opinion on things, including political stuff.

Right now the political UK viewpoint is probably less fixed than it's been for a long time. We're not likely to have an outright winner at the election in 2015, with people changing their allegiances and also being uncertain on who'll they'll vote for. I'm in the latter camp - I'm interested in politics and not decided who I will vote for, thought it probably will not be for ukip or the conservatives and definitely not for the libdems.

It's certainly good to see opinions and having the forums here means that responses don't have to be immediate, leaving people to think about their answers etc.

If fab was 100% sex it would be a less interesting place.

Even if there was a Political Chat thread, it wouldnt stop people going off on one in other threads, like yesterday.

I suggested earlier how we could have a Christmas Chat thread so we didnt need a new thread everytime someone wanted to tell us something personal to them. Again, this wouldnt stop people starting a new thread.

No one ever starts a conversation and stays on that subject through out it, inevitably when discussing a point of view another topic will be used to give your point context.

It doesn't really bother me what people write, if I don't like it I ignore it, if I think it's wrong I'll argue against it, but I did notice the other day someone brought up the 911 hijacks in a thread and was relatively boo,d for a point of view!, it is always good to challenge the established story providing your not making things up to scare people.
