I've had two people message me insisting I am somebody they have met previously (2 different people not the same person). I explained they had the wrong person but they badgered me insisting I was lying. Trying to assure them I wasn't I engaged in conversation to prove it until I eventually got nasty and ended up blocking.
Are they just looking for attention or is this a genuine mistake? If they do believe I'm the person they know why continue to message? If i was that person and denying it i clearly dont want anything to do with them so they should take the hint. smells of desperation to me. |

Oh I've had a lot of I know you messages in the past (some that actually do and I have ignored lol) but these two were different. Maybe the tactics are getting more sophisticated haha. I was honestly trying to help so they did feel the "person" they thought I was was deliberately ignoring them. Just ended up getting my back up though!! |

"I'm positive I recognise that eye in your avatar.... Are you sure we haven't met before??? ??"
Oh yeah I remember, I think I'm unforgettable really as there's not many people on here with one eye. |

"It's an old tactic to grab your attention and engage them in conversation. "
^^^^ this. I've had similar a few recently. They lived miles away but still insisted we'd chatted/met/agreed to meet. I just ignored and deleted any message I received after I said mistaken identity. |
