I am working on the 24th until at least 11.30p.m, so by the time I have a glass of red wine to relax, and the electric blanket has preheated, I should be asleep by 1a.m. on 25th.
I do not have a chimney for any weird men in beards and daft red clothes with a posse of vertically challenged followers to enter my home.
I have all my food ordered for collection and wine already bought.
It would be nice to have a day of peace and quite on my own, although one f my friends has indicated she wants me to join her family - her husband who falls asleep after 2 beers- and her 2 children, both under 3 years of age.
I am going to say no but am worrying how to tell her, nicely, that her cooking is not up to standard and I would rather they come to me.
Eek!

I'd go.
I would rather be with friends than on my own, dodgy food or not, how about you cook for them and give her a rest from the kids, get him to help.
We have our rapidly extending family coming up so a busy day for us. |

I am now actually looking forward to 25th December as I have made my first sale under my new business venture and am required to carry out the first stage of the process on 25th. The client (an Indian Restaurant) has offered to provide me with a meal in addition to my fee.
Just hope it's not f***in Turkey. |

no nice way to tell someone who has been kind enough to open their home to you on Christmas day that their cooking isn't up to standard. Either go and accept her food with grace or don't go at all are the options I would suggest. |
