I don't know if there are many boxing fans out here but if there is who would be in your top 5 favourite ? Not pound for pound just the fights that you favoured the most. |

Eubank.
Any 5 fights he won and didnt lose. I didnt like the fight where he hurt Micheal Watson though due to the outcome.
If I had to pick 5 boxers I would go with (in no order).
Barry Maquigan (sp)
Steve Robinson
Nigel Benn
Chris Eubank
Frank Bruno |

That's a very uk line up but I do like most of then especially Benn and eubank.
I don't know if you've been watching the Chris eubank jnr affair but it's put me right off Chris snr he is a proper cock.
I think mine would have to be
Roy jones
Carl froch
Nigel Benn
Joe calzaghe
Autro gatti
Outsiders just because I like their style would be andre ward, Kirkland Laing, Kevin mitchelle, Calum smith, evander Holyfield and Roberto Duran. |

Marvin Hagler was my all time favourite followed closely by Roberto Duran. Then in no particular order.
Larry Holmes
Barry McGuigan
Nigel Benn
But Muhammad Ali was , is and always will be the greatest. |

Kirkland Laing, what a character and what a story. If anyone's life deserves to be made into a film it's his. |

I hardly saw any of the Jnr Eubank stuff, the weeks leading up or the fight itself. I remember seeing a documenty on Eubank and it didn't win me over.
I seperate Eubank the boxer and Eubank the bloke. |

I recently read Durans biography, what a character!
I love boxing, my grandad was a big fight fan and got me in to it.
Fav fighters:
Hagler, absolute animal and robbed in the Leonard fight
Benn, real warrior. You always knew there would be a knockout, whether him or the opponent.
Tyson, had them beat before he walked in the ring. If only Cus D'Amato had lived longer and Teddy Atlas still trained him. I think he would have become a great.
Calzhage, a real intelligent boxer. Never ducked a challenge.
Ali, my all time sporting hero. His fights in the ring as legendary as the fights outside. I cried when I saw him at the Olympics, so sad how Parkinsons has ravaged him.
Sadly I think I missed all the great eras of boxing. Heavyweights in the 70s and Middle Weights in the 80s.

There was a programme a few years back, where the put Benn and Eubank through a gladitorial training camp. The hatred of each other was apparent even then.
I couldnt stand Eubank, his counter punching style always did my head in. I think the Watson fight changed his style massively. |
