Do you behaved differently online or Same as in normal life . ? I know it make some feel more powerful and confident and say and do things here they would never do to your face has it changed you going online?.

Was reading this and found it really very sad in a way and I know things change

Psychotherapist Peter Bradley, said that the desire for so many to adopt a different identity online was a cause for concern because the children were being divorced from reality.

cyberspace is detachable from the real world and a place where you explore parts of their behaviour and personality that they possibly would not show in real life. We can't allow cyberworlds to be happier places than our real communities, otherwise we are creating a generation of young people not functioning adequately in our society.’

Around 10 per cent said they changed aspects of their appearance and their personality for their online activity.

Yeah. I'm more outrageous at times on line (in this forum) than in real life. I take the piss and mess around more, mainly because it is a bit of an escape from my normal responsibilities. However my underlying personality is the same just softer in real life.

very true as the fear of being slapped holds back the sub conscious mind. In cyber world we can hide behind the screen

You now find kids not just kids go in there rooms online for hours and hours not going out a lot .. I know the cyber world is good in lots of ways but so bad in others . And its changed my life as I had not written a letter in my life or nothing until I come online. I Would get others to do it for me. Still not the best but I now give it a go ..

I turn away from as many threads online as I do conversations in real life. I don't pick and choose, it's just what I can be bothered with at the time.

Online though, you do have the availability to think before you type.. something which is sometimes not a luxury in life

Most of my friends and all of my workmates know what I get up to here. Same was true in previous job....up to director level.

Why should we behave differently if our behaviour on here is our real selves?

Up on them there hills

I'm (male) better face to face, you get feedback off expressions and you gauge better the type of person you are communicating with.

Plus, I suspect Trolls are not at their best face to face.

Same. On here, I'm a slightly more extreme version of me. Why? Because I can. There again, in real life, people don't say stupid things to me as much as they do on here so my ascerbicity is very low level in real life. I really am a well chilled out, polite and relaxed guy - just as the profile says.

I'm the same here as in the REAL world.

"I'm just as much of an idiot in real life as I am online "

I am as fair and honest as I am in the flesh the only difference between my personas is that I am more confident and bolder in the real world on a one to one basis.

I find it harder to explain myself in cyberspace for fear of being branded a fruit loop lol

It's possibly too late

I've been told I'm friendlier in person, that's just down to me being brusque and impatient in texts/messages.

Central

I'm more uninhibited in the wider world where I can see and get a sense of who I'm with. In the internet world I may be a bit more to the point but always aim to be as respectful as anywhere else.
