Sounds like Jenson to stay with McLaren!

Jenson Button is to partner Fernando Alonso at McLaren next season.

The team are to announce their driver line-up at a news conference at their factory in Surrey on Thursday.

But BBC Sport has learned they have decided to retain Button after weeks of leaning towards Kevin Magnussen.

Button, the 34-year-old 2009 world champion, will continue into a 16th season and has his wish granted to test himself against the man widely regarded as the best in F1.

I hope this rumour is true, as Jenson is one of my favourite drivers and he's bloody gorgeous too!

here and there, thereabouts

It's be nice if they did and he got a competitive car, but sounds as though he's had temptation elsewhere so it'll be interesting to here the 'official' announcement.

He's a superb driver whose often underrated, comes across as genuinely nice and is lush to boot.JB rules! Lol

Maybe the Dane is staying as third driver for a year before coming back into the racing line up. Hope so. Jb rules.

Given all their recent indecision on the matter, I'm wondering if Jenson has forced their hand.

I understand that he would have needed to make a decision fairly soon about whether he wanted to take part in the Sports Car series (forget what it's called) and so I'm wondering if he's told McLaren that if they haven't made a decision by a certain date, then he will take matters out of their hands - by moving to the Sports car series.

It's certainly what I would do.

Fingers crossed, Button is a great guy and a pretty driver with the right wheels under him.

Hope he gets along with Alonso though
