So parents. . Just bloody watch it. By all means take a few pics. . But DON'T stand there like a twonk filming the whole thing on your big stupid zombie phone/tablet . Enjoy the moment. . Use your memory not your memory card. All the rest of us see is your device in our eyeline. Are you seriously ever going to watch it all back ? No . Same goes for live music or stage show. Absorb. . Enjoy. . Recall ! Rant over !

I agree, all you see is mums with their iPads not taking a blind bit of notice what's going on and getting in everyone else's way. Nobody ever watches it ever again

Ive watched my kids school play 3 times. Their mum recorded it for me because living 100 miles away and working full time I couldnt be there. If she had listened to you guys I wouldnt have ever seen it. But I guess the other parent asking them to film it hadnt occured to you

People answering phones, having conversations and crying children are more of a problem at my grandchildren's school. People using large devices stand at the back and the school videos and posts on the school website

Near Edinburgh..

We got told that The School was Recording it and that we weren't allowed to take photos or record the play in anyway.. For Certain privacy Reasons.. !!

Then the school post it on You-Tube for Everyone too See..

And they were worried about us showing it on Facebook for Friends and family..

My retort was about sexual dislikes. Don't try and use my replies as a stick to beat me. Scroll up and tell me my post was not worth it

When I went to see the Kaiser Chiefs a couple of years ago. He said at one point, put your mobiles down and enjoy the moment. He went into the crowd to make sure they did! He was spot on too. Too many never see once in a lifetime views with their naked eye - only via a phone, IPad etc! Seeing it in your minds eye after is so much better.

totally respect that . . And there should be a side end of the area set aside for filming .

I'm away to see my lil uns play tomo..I'm a daft parent and excited! And am lucky enough that its fallen on one off my days off. Been there and done it with oldest kids 20 plus years ago. And now I have the pleasure all over again, with our excited 6yr old. Bethlehems a buzzin. Apparently! ...I shall be clapping like a seal, at his out of tune singing ... I shall also be videoing, and taking pics to my hearts content! His dads working... I shall be considerate as always! But anyone twittering, about it will be told to shushhh, in a very polite way off course!

That would be a good idea! Recently my 8 year old did a fairly big production (for a school play) it was performed in a theater. It was part of rememberance and my daughter was playing an evacuee with quite a few lines. The theater wouldnt allow parents to film so her mum couldnt. But the school was allowed to record it and sell dvds to the parents. Great in theory. But the dvds have yet to be made available so Ive yet to see her performance

I went to my childs play tonight, i stood quietly at the side, smiling from ear to ear. I got the shot in focus, held it in place and I filmed him singing whilst watching him as normal managing not to view it through the phone. I want him to see them when he's older, memories are always there but its also nice to relive the happy times as much as possible .
