First time I have heard this phrase. Have Americanisms taken over the Met Office?
Good luck to those in Scotland today, high tides and 40 foot waves. Stay safe if you're on the coast. |

"I don't like the dumbing down of the BBC weather forecast. It used to be 'cloud masses' now it's 'lumps of cloud'.
Nary a mention of an isotherm "
Carol has got great norks though. I dont like our 'local' weather girl. She has very long fingers and does weird hand movements. |

I get Welsh regional and BBC West regional, Bristol, Swindon and Zomerzett. Their weather girl reminds me of a pixie who lives at Glastonbury all year round.
I'll see if I can get you a name. They also have a cracking milf who does the news but on other days a complete dog who looks like she just been dragged through a waste tip complete with shit on the floor |

Thomas Shaffernacker top name . . I'd imagine ladies would like him. For the gents . .Wendy Hurrell is totally perfect ! Pure beauty ! As for weather bomb . . I think it was 1987 the last time weather was worse than predicted. Now we it's usually a way to create a story out of nothing . People on the coast should be credited with enough nous to be able to handle the sea ! |

How best to describe a weather bomb?......
"Explosive Cyclogenesis (also referred to as a weather bomb, meteorological bomb, explosive development, or bombogenesis) refers in a strict sense to a rapidly deepening extratropical cyclonic low-pressure area."
A weather bomb does sound more dramatic than an extreme low pressure but the reality is that this will deliver very, very strong winds and a storm surge.

Why confuse some of the nation with isobars, they put it in basic English so anyone can understand it. |
