Swish the gel around in your mouth with a wee bit of water.

(I got prescribed lansoprazole, which is probably the same as omeprazole)

I am on Lansoprazole at present for Acid Reflux but even then it doesn't always work. My GP suggested a polo mint can take the edge off the feeling if the meds don't appear to work.

If you can't get a prescription-buy some ranitidine over the counter in a nearby pharmacy or supermarket...take as directed on the pack

trust me apple cider vinegar a couple of tablespoons with half a cup of water taken every day will eliminate the need for tablets. It has worked wonders for me alongside eating healthier foods.

If all else fails and you're in too much pain drink a lot of water and induce vomiting. It's not the best thing to do but when I'm curled up in agony with no relief it's better than nothing

Tonic water can help too, and it's something most hotels will have.

If it's an ongoing problem, look at restricting your carb intake. Once I stopped eating carbs the problem went overnight. I tested the theory the night my grandson was born at home by eating a packet of minstrels, a nano second after I fell asleep I was up having inhaled some stomach acid, I can tell you, I've never been so frightened.

It's never recurred because I still don't eat carbs.

I agree. If I eat too many carbs I get it. I luv bread though so find it very difficult not to sometimes
