How many shows has Billy Connolly done in recent years where it seems like every second word is "fucking"? Not as funny as his earlier stuff either. Looks like he could be looking at a sentence. |

Sure there are other comics who swear like troopers, one who springs to mind is Roy chubby Brown.
They could be done also.
You never heard the likes of :
Tommy Cooper
Morcambe & Wise
Francie & Josie
(sure there will be more)
Don't recall these guys swear that I've seen. True funny class acts without swearing |

That's because you only saw them 30 years ago on the telly. Their live acts will have been different then to what is the norm now, live and on telly |

I understand things/taste etc change through time.
I was just using the above acts as examples of people who on TV didn't need to swear to get laughs. Watching Tommy Cooper he would just start that great laugh of his and make anyone laugh.
Surly comedy is all about timing/delivery of the joke, no need for EXESSIVE swearing. |
