If they like crunchies and kicking balls about, they'll love em. Our littlest kitty goes mental after it sometimes. It's a joy to watch

We have the pen light, the ball that has to be rolled to dispense treats, a wind-up thing that sweeps a feather around, and a few other things..... but the most fun they have is with rolled up balls of foil ffs!

My girl cat has strange obsessions now and again. For a while she was in love with a rubber door stop and caught it every night and dropped it by the side of my bed. She also had a phase of stealing the coasters and kicking them round the floor. Her current thing is stealing my nail files.

Of all the things we've bought. It's the simplest ones that have given them the most stimulation.

We've got a bracket that fits over a door with a mouse on an elasticated lead. Cue more brilliant catrobatics................

I put an open bag of my boy cat's favourite treats, (which is most treats actually - he's a hog), in front of hime recently to see if he'd hook the treats out. He didn't. It apparently didn't occur to him. He's not the brightest of sparks, bless him.

I am so glad there are other cat lovers on the site!

I usually get mine a card and put dreamies in it. I don't think a tv add has ever been so realistic in so far as the cat running through the wall is concerned! The effect is not far off. Mine go nuts for them and if I leave a packet out it gets torn to pieces.

Lazer pens are a lot of fun. I have just got one off ebay which runs on normal batteries rather than watch batteries.

Sometimes my boy has amazing flashes of brilliance but the rest of the time he's an airhead. He was bred for his looks, (he is stunningly gorgeous), and his temperament, not his brains.

His approach tends to be brute force and ignorance. If he wants to get through a door and the gap isn't big enough he just shoves through, face first. Most other cats would push with their feet, or at least the flat of their head.

But he worked out how to get onto the bedroom windowsill and behind the vertical blinds much faster than the girl cat, and he's worked out how to open the kitchen cupboard.

Ultimately they are family and if people wish to treat them well then that is their discretion. I don't understand why people take issue with it, if it doesn't interfere with their lives then what is the problem.

Whilst I know they are not to everyones fancy, despite becoming kept animals they do still maintain their killer instinct. For that reason whilst a collar might help it wont prevent them hunting

Ok joking aside, I know. The people who have said about the presents the cat get them dont like it but are not put off enough to get rid of the cat because of it.

All they have to do is place their chin to their chest, when stalking prey, to silence the bell.

And, apparently they bring the prey home, as they are saying "I think your foods shit, here try this"

On the present side of things...My cats 16 and thankfully he is an atheist, so couldn't give a flying fuc...red robin.

Extra bells strategically placed around the collar should help if you want to reduce the small animal slaughter. But it is a natural instinct.

Unless of course you're my cat, who (like VVs) was bred to be stunningly gorgeous but somehow ended up stunningly dim as well.

I hid the Dreamies in my work bag and ended up taking them to work the next day by accident!

if you use the same word everytime you give them the treats you can teach them to come running when you call it , very useful for trips to the vets, I call "sweeties" and 2 cats magically appear before me

What do they sleep in - they have some lovely cat beds on amazon which look so cosy. They even have a little sofa.

There is also a toy called a Catit senses speed circuit which is basically a light up ball inside a tube which goes around and the cats try and bite it.

And for those who moan about others buying their animals presents, people will spend their own money on what they like and if they treat their animals like a member if the family, as I do with my dog, then they get pleasure in buying things for them

The laser pens are 99p on Ebay, and yes, they are great fun except for one of our cats who just stares at the others going mad for it. A fun prezzie for both the cats and the staff is a catcam. We got one recently and it's fascinating what they get up to - you see everything through whisker-vision! And the cats loved the bubble wrap it came in.
