I had a stalker once. I use to work in a department store and he use to come in every time I was there and just stare in owe. I found it funny tbh but my manager had him band.
I kind of missed his little face after that. |

That was obvious and you could see him doing it. You didn't find it creepy at all?

They don't do anything, it's only creepy if you let it be (in your head).
Had 2 when i was younger.
There are stalkers who harrass and intimidate i'm not sure if they're actually called stalkers or have some properly identified mental illness? Never had one of those, although my abusive ex used to follow me about to check up on me when we were together. |

No. He was little and kind of cute in a weird kind of way with a big stupid grin on his face. Like he was in pure bliss.

Maybe he wasn't a stalker so much as just admiring you and maybe had learning difficulties.

"I've had two in my life, once when I was 17 and once when I was 22. The first one stopped as suddenly as he started after about a year, the other one was quite a bit more scary.
"
What behaviour did they exhibit so you would know they were stalkers?
My first boyfriend and I got engaged and then when we split up he stalked me. He would park his car so that I could see it and know he was around but I didn't know where he was. He would then phone up when I got back home and tell me his interpretation of what he had seen me doing (me asking a man for directions became me flirting and selling myself to any takers on the street).

Maybe. At least he got some pleasure from me working there cuz I sure didn't.
Felt bad for him that he got removed. |

But he took to waiting for me to walk my dog and follow me, then he started pushing stuff through my front door, then when I mad it clear I wasn't instead, her started looking through his blinds and shouting out whistling at me . Hes crap at it LOL. The houses have bay windows and it doesn't matter what time I go out, you can see him peeking through. It must be difficult when it's a neighbour and opposite you.

When he started 18 months ago it freaked me out. Now I just laugh at him. It doesn't help his misses gives me a filthy look when I've never spoken to her. But she should be thanking me for telling to leave me alone and go home to his gf. I'm not a family wrecker |

"How do you spot a stalker?
I've only seen the trailers for the television show but I wonder how you spot the signs?
"
Constant text messages. Telephone calls in the middle of the night. Bombarded with messages. A minute-by-minute check on when I log on
Solution: Get a throw-away SIM and a ultra cheap cellphone. Only ever give that number out until reasonably certain that the encounter was not with a weirdo. Never give home address or work place details out. Never give out real name and move profile location by 5 miles or so |

Mrs P has been stalked twice. Once from an ex and another time from a client. The ex would ring up numerous times a day and turn up unannounced. He would drive a hundred miles just to sit outside her house. It fizzled out when she moved in with me as he didn't know her address but he pestered her parents for our number which her mother foolishly gave him so it started again.
The client was a bit more sinister and violent and it resulted in her giving up her job and choosing a different career path. |

No, not had that, yet
But don't get tooooo worried; they are generally harmless but highly annoying
I know you have not encountered them but some women here have had it bad. If instincts tell you that it is getting sinister, then contact the Police immediately; don't take risks |

Before Lickety came into being I left because of a stalker. I came back stronger and determined that I would never feel that I was driven off again.

I've never had one, but my friend had a right bunny boiler of an ex. Once they split up she would go round trying to find out where we had gone for a drink. Then sit in the corner with a drink and watch us. Once he had 100 missed calls in one night and when he looked out the window she had spent the night asleep across his front door in the middle of dec! He had to quit his job and move out of the area to get rid of her! |

I had one when I worked in a hostel. He was a resident who took a shine to me and would take photos of me when I was on shift. He was evicted due to his behaviour towards me but he contuined to stay outside and take pictures. He would then wait in the underpass I had to use to get home and come to work and he used to threaten to rape me. In the end my work place paid for an injunction and got me taxis to and from work for many months until they could serve the injunction. The bloke was a total slime ball |

Follow your gut instinct - it's usually the way to realise that someone else isn't good for you, including potentially a stalker in the making.
Also, if people seem to want to suck every personal detail from you: I've had stalkers, and they shared the need to know everything, which could appear like innocuous interest, but really allows them to create a comprehensive net around you and your life. |

I've had a few but the scariest was..... I met him then didn't want to see him again but he'd constantly text to the point I got really angry and told him there was no way I'd ever see him he disgusted me. I continued getting messages saying he was outside my work or behind me in the car (I didn't tell him where I worked). After a few months I thought it stopped. But over a year later I found a note on my car (I had changed my car twice) he even made comments about my previous car and said he sat outside my work and would watch me! I'm terrified now, this was recently. |

watching your every move, reading what you've posted, looking at your pics (stealing them in some cases), which is common on here, blocking and unblocking to look at pics/cams, creating fake profiles to get around blocks
report anyone who's doing this to the police and if it's happening on here, make admin aware of it
stay safe! |

I never put my true location on my profile and i dont say where i live or work cus in the past i have had men from here stalk me, one guy followed me home but luckily i noticed and drove round for ages in an different area until he gave up .... the police were very good at getting rid of them thou and were very helpful. I have also had the wives of guys i met (who had told me they were single !!!) stalk me, constant phone calls and one woman came to my house, not sure how she knew where i lived, very scary in all cases but once again the police were very helpful thank goodness ! |

Yes! I have said no to men on here as what starts as a good exchange of messages soon turns into a list of personal questions. My antennae may be set to sensitive but if I feel it's creepy I listen to that feeling.

My stalker would wait for my husband to go out, then leave notes on my kitchen window with instructions or threats. He cut down my washing line, threw stones through my bedroom window and sent me life insurance quotes through the post. This went on for about 8 months until we found out who it was. Someone had a word with him and it stopped but I'd moved out of my house in case he set fire to it |

Constant texts. Hidden profile on here then mailing me on my hotmail account with comments about my status and the men I'd met or copying my pics and mailing them back to me. Public profile on here with statuses making reference to me, he even gave my real name and the name of the village I live in. Text messages to my land line. I came back under a different user name once but he still found me.
It's easy enough for people to say ignore - which I did - but it can wear you down and drive you crazy after a while. |

I have done quite a few times, not all down to him but mostly, as the threat of being outed got too scary. Eventually I snapped, at him through a vile email. I'm not overly proud of the language I used but it seems to have worked. I even called him the C word |

"Those who say to ignore it, may not have had an appalling experience with a stalker. "
I totally agree. I've had them in my garden at night, watching and waiting for hours nearby, 24x7 calls and changed my no.
The worst one conned a neighbour to let them sleep there overnight, to retain oversight. Fair play to their generosity to me. The police are really helpful and supportive. I've moved out and stayed elsewhere. But it takes a lot for you to feel at ease.
Some people are just obsessive nuts that want control and what they can't have.
I'm now wary and cringe if people start to want to know too much. I've nothing to hide but trust must be earned and for most things there is no need to know. |

Couldn't agree more.
Had one here. Was trying to put me and my partners lives a hell. Finally left the site. But,don't know for how long and how many fake profiles she's got. She was just Fuckbuddy of my guy and was trying all sneaky stuff. Downloaded my pictures and posted to my work. Calling me on private no. The best thing to do is ignore and they get fedup and eventually stop. But I know that feeling always watching over you and monitoring ones posts.
Well it's a part of cyber fun we have to go through Stay safe and and have fun xx |

I've had an ex arrested for sending me malicious messages. Although he didn't turn up at my home (he doesn't have my address) or workplace, he threatened me numerous times, calling me 10 times a day and leaving voicemails of the sound of him using a whetstone to sharpen a knife. Good times! |

They do tend to ask a lot of personal questions and then use any information given, when still trusting, to hammer home to you that you were a bloody fool for trusting anyone. Also thus proving that the niggle you ignored turned out to be true and they are malicious stalkers.
Trust your instincts.

You're jumping ahead.
I don't like the fact that they all seem to be able to lurk in the victim's home. Squeaky doors and maybe some loose floorboards - it's the only way to keep safe.

I have an ex who 20 years later turned stalker. First messages on facebook, then texts. All went really weird when it turned out that she has a nephew who lives round the corner from me.
She kept threatening to pop round. A few of my work t-shirts went missing from my washing line then she sent me a picture of her naked bar my tshirt.
I had to say enough was enough and if she didn't stop, i was calling the police.
It isn't pleasant and I would not wish it on anyone! |

I had a stalker who was an ex and this went on for five years the authorities dismissed it as her just being upset because I broke off the relationship.
She turned up at my daughters making threats on my life and other stuff I will not discuss.
Even though I took out injunctions to stop it bugger all worked until I took legal action against the police my argument which was accepted by the judge was based on anecdotal evidence where a individual male had been dealt with differently the reasons were very specific and if not for a very astute solicitor I would have lost the case.
Eventually a review of the case was undertaken and she was arrested charged and convicted.
I could not go for sexism because hsrd to prove but had to use a specific case where identical things happened to a lady and the chap was correctly dealt with.
Turned out the ex unknown to me at the time was part of the legal profession and rightly or wrongly I believe part reason it was left to carry on so long. |

You should have called the police. Women stalking men goes largely unreported and so the figures are skewed.

With hindsight yes. I was just relieved she stopped. Although if she was to start again I wouldn't hesitate. |
