near the sounds of the wimborne quarter jack!

Did anyone have the Bettaware man call round when they were a child?

He always had household stuff in a suitcase and he used to give my sister and myself the little sampler tins of polish when he called. The tins were about the same diameter as a beer bottle cap.

Any other memories of childhood things you don`t see anymore?

you can tell by the threads what day of the week it is!

top of the pops albums with the chick with the butterfly hair and bright red lipstick...usually with roller skates on or a floaty cotton dress dancing in the sun beams...and that was an aspiration for a young girl!

i'm sure we used to have a guy that came round selling pop and had to save the bottle for him to collect.

he also gave us piece work to do (putting panflet packs together and stuffing envelopes etc) which we used to do for extra pocket money

the bbc saying goodnight and playing the national anthem...was always a bit sinister after crimewatch when they advised you to check your doors and windows were locked...always nice to instill fear in the poor buggers watching!

Ooooooooo we'll definitely be at the next social, we'll never attend Chams, they refuse to treat us as a couple, if that's there policy regarding male couples, fair enough, we have the choice where we spend our money

Remember when Benny went for a spanner and wasnt in the program again for 3 months...

Watch with Mother

Fireball XL5

and the lorry that used to come around deliverying pink parafin .. always loved that as a kid because on the badk of the lorry were 2 bottles smf s pump lever.

When the guy used to pump out the parafin one emptied and one filled up .. kept me amused for hours.

Also the guy on a pushbike with a contraption on the front that he used to use to sharpen you knifes.
