wired up.....dangerous?

At the risk of sounding like Victor Meldrew, I couldn't believe it walking around town today. Just about every younger person had a wire coming from each ear to their phone, just chatting away without a care in the world! Ok, I'm probably going a bit OTT here, but they can't hear anything from behind, and this time of year the pick pockets are gonna have a Beano! Am I just being a moaning old bastard?, thought so, I'll shut up! Lol

It's not just the pickpockets, what happens if they don't pay attention and just walk straight out in front of a car.

It's probably not mega social, and it's perhaps a little unsafe, but there's far bigger dangers out there

Didn't do Cliff Richard any harm, and he was rollerskating as well.

Apatently they're bringing Dave Prowse back as the green cross code man to warn adults about the dangers of crossing the road when distracted by phones and other devices so it's not just the young rapscallions constantly wired in.

Yes, Dave Prowse will pull out your headphones and tell you that he's your father.

It makes me sad when it's a parent out with kids and the parent has earphones in. Talk to the kids!!

Beats the people with the Bluetooth earpiece jabbering away and talking to themselves like crazy people as they walk down the street.

Problem is this technology de-skills the pick-pockets, imagine in a few years time when pick pockets are our only remaining export, and they can't work unless people are distracted...

I agree it is sad. My youngest woukd never let me get away with that. Even shouts at me when I'm returning a message...

Mummy will you pay attention to me please.

At least she is polite while being annoyed

If I'm Power Walking I enjoy listening to my music as it makes me keep my rhythm. I only have one earphone in though, there are very narrow roads round here and last thing I want is a car, landrover or tractor creeping up on me unaware
