Sky is great but way to expensive. We're £100 a month for TV, phone (that we don't use) and internet.
They sneak it up a few quid every year and the way the programmes are bundled now is designed to make you take the full package. |

I love F1 and a few other motorsports but there's no point in me having the whole package because I just won't make use of it.
I just watch the F1 races on the BBC or find a live feed online. |

Do you subscribe to hd, f1 comes free if you do x |

Sky are so clever, they have a great monopoly on customers. I was the same with only wanting certain things but the package required more spending, which I negotiated a bit with them on principle.
It is a kind of rip off, but it's hard to walk away from sky after having it for years. And still alot cheaper than attending live gigs, games, or going to the cinema frequently I guess. |

It's the multi room cost that winds me up, it shouldn't be allowed to be called multi room because you pay for each extra box, the term multi room suggests you can have multiple boxes for the price which isn't the case, I believe virgin don't charge for HD or extra boxes |

I'm a BT infinity subscriber and get their sport for free, which includes a lot of motor sport.
With everything bundled Inc line rental, phone, Internet, extra channels etc I pay £55 a month
and that's with a 70mb fibre line too |

I want f1 on Virgin but can't get it unless I subscribe to all sports, which I'm not interested in, so sky have me over a barrel. Although I have to say sky's civerage of F1 is very good |

up to 100 quid... wow.... you must have everything!!!! lol
i have a bundle deal like yours.... phone (which i dont use either) broadband and tv..... and my combined bill is just over 65 quid.... lol
my bills were like yours... then i had a look at what i was actually watching.....
so sky movies went....
bt sport went.... ( watch any football i need to thru the "ahem" internet)
did i really need all the channels in hd... nope...so downgraded..... top packages requires the further HD package... so extra savings
did i need sky sports in hd... nope that went...
I think sometimes we ask for everything and found i was never watching.....
sometimes it is worth actually writing down which channels you actually watch... i bet it is not as many as you think...... |

It's just getting so expensive and every time you need an engineer (usually at least once a year) they charge £65 as well. Over the internet ,lady from sky,in 5mins got me the channels that kept breaking up, but said I needed an engineer, when I said the channels are fine now, she did something her end and I lost them again! pure con!!!
Sky channels and coverage is great for a lot of things but it's getting way to expensive. |

i'll give you a classic example....
how many more channels do you get in the family bundle (the top package) than in the variety bundle (the middle package)
the answer is a whopping..... zero!!
none... nada.... zilch.....
all you are paying the extra money for is HD... do you really need to watch everything in HD??? and boxsets... (how many of you have watched them??? me neither)
so there is 5 quid you could save.....
so you really need sports/movies in HD.... will it really spoil your entertainment??? there is another 5 quid a month.......
and so on.... and so on...... |

We had to buy the box which was £160 but first 3 months viewing and installation was free and now all we pay is £40 every 3 months.Downside is all the adverts are in Euro's and the remote isn't very big |

I pay £100 a month for the lot. I can afford it so no complaints here.
I play the TV wars every few years. So every few years I'll get 6 months half price.
Just I like to have the options. |

Actually I'd like the boxsets. I have the basic package so I don't get them. I cancelled movies a few months ago because I had to cut my outgoings. |

If you buy a NowTV box you can watch F1 for about a tenner a go. It works out much, much cheaper than having an actual Sky service.
If you buy a Roku - a more expensive version of a NowTV box - then I can't see how you'd ever need Sky, there's so much to watch. |

"still a bit lost on why you need sky or any other paid for TV, we just download which ever film or what ever we want to watch.
as to F1 / boxing etc. , streaming works for us..Connie xx"
Well you know, because some people don't want to break the law? Because they want to see these companies survive? If everyone just streamed it illegally then none of the companies would have the money to keep making the programs that you like. |
