Shopping on Boxing day

It's now the norm that shops are open for trade on Boxing day.

Do you like or dislike this?

For retailers it means starting January sales early, for the workers it means only 1 day off, for shoppers it means more bargains? Providing you get to the shops at 5am!

So, for or against Boxing day shopping?

As I work in a shop, I'm against it, especially as it's not double pay

Against - Boxing Day should be spent relaxing after having a busy day Christmas Day, January sales should start in January not Boxing Day

I'm against, let people have a decent break, there is no need for shopping on boxing day.

I used to work in a shop and Boxing day shopping is awful, very similar to opening on New Years day. No one wants to be there and who in their right mind goes shopping at 9am on New Years day?!?

I dislikes it

But then again I dislike how we have become a 24/7 society....dislike Sunday opening, all night opening etc

Against. Retail staff need and deserve a break too.

It's often the case that retail staff aren't allowed to take a holiday or book a day off in the whole of December.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I'm against it and (don't) put my money where my mouth is and won't shop on certain days.

I've never had the incline to go shopping on Boxing Day. I think it's a shame that people are forced to work on this day.

It's for sadists.

It makes me want to hulk out.

Hence why I don't do it.

I'm usually recovering from Xmas day.

There will always be people who get up at 5am and shop, and always people who, for whatever reason, choose to work.

I don't go near the shops, have been to a pub on the odd Boxing Day though

I'm not getting up at 5am any day to stand outside a shop! But as I'm normally up early with my boy I do check out the online next sale on Boxing Day morning got some great bargains last year and didn't even have to leave the house
