one of the personal trainers at my old gym, well you would expect a personal trainer to be in good shape, this one guy was as skinny as a rake, to look at him someone you would think had never been near a gym in his life, now I dare say he did know his stuff, but in your head are you really going to be taking the guys advice that seriously  |

Fitness isn't just about aesthetic muscle. Many of the model looking muscle guys are absolutely terrible at any cardiovascular events as they focus on how they look not perform.

Why wouldn't you? One of the best PTs I have ever trained with has a hyperkyphosis - he understand the limitations of being less than physically perfect - and is a fantastic motivator.
I've trained as a gym instructor and am going to train further soon - and I'm not ripped either... so would you listen less?
Its about attitude, ability to motivate and the relationship you build with clients - you are there for their workout, not to pose and look good! |

A relative of mine wanted to be a personal trainer. He's slim built and the two PT's at his gym, well one was built like the Hulk and the other like Barbie, and I did think he wouldn't be the obvious choice if he did take it up. |

That looked very out of place; not to mention the words 'what is the point?!?' flashing through my brain. |

yep seen that plenty of times, the two things really don't go together do they, and gets me when you see people leaving work at the end of the day, they get one foot out the door and the fag is already on it's way up to the mouth that's an addiction people really need to kick! |
