Hiya, I'm looking for some interesting new music that might be out there to download. Sick of putting the radio on to listen to the same old tripe day in day out.

What are your favourite current acts out there?

Absolute rubbish. the music today is as good as ever.

Try Chvrches, Clean bandit, London Grammar & Wolf Alice for starters

If you like female singer/songwriters, check out Aventine by Agnes Obel. Lovely voice and lovely piano based melodies.

London / Herts

People tend to conflate contemporary music with the pop music you often get pumped out on the radio waves. What's on the radio is hardly reflective of modern music.

Always remember that music, like any artform, is subjective. As a teen I always criticised music I didn't like. Futile. Just like what you like and leave other people to their business. The only caveat I now hold is when music no longer becomes "music", and instead resembles softcore porn.

Don't listen to the radio, well except for Radio 6.

Youngsta & kryptic minds

Helps if you have a subwoofer or decent pair of headphones.

This is dubstep stripped back to its roots, dark and deep.

Try badman VIP and cant sleep by kryptic minds

Destruction by youngsta is great too.

Check out rinse FM podcasts on YouTube as well

"I am so out of the popular music scene, its untrue. "

I gave up when I left school in 1973 and due to work constraints couldn't listen to R1 and the Top Twenty countdown" Gee that ages me!

That said, I like Caro Emerald, Rozier, Rumer, Within Temptation and Tom Odell; they've all caught my attention of late.
