Try Pidgin.

It is an easy to use, multi-protocol chat client client used by millions. And you can connect to AIM, MSN, Yahoo and others. In other words it does msn and yahoo and clutters your pc less.

The new beta messenger is crap

I have never had any problems with the older versions but the new one is terrible

I noticed Microsoft have even patched it already through windows updates and it now a little better

The main problem is it kicks u off regularly the other day 15 times in an hour

And some of the old features have gone too xx

Never had any problems with MSN and most people I know that use an IM use MSN. Tried YM and it worked fine but none of my contact were on it.
