Real or fake?

Christmas tree that is

When me and my O/H lived in a small flat, we had a fake one which he hated, having always had a real one growing up. One year he decided to spray it with "pine fresh" spray to make it smell authentic, but it just smelled like a toilet. Ever since we moved to our house, we always buy a real one from a local animal/wildlife conservation centre and although the needles are a pain in the arse (and bare feet) we'd never go plastic again.

So what do you prefer - real or fake?

Bristol

I bought a short fibre optic tree from Woollies years ago. That plus the reindeer that lives on top of the TV and shits chocolate raisins when his tail is pulled are my concessions to Christmas.

Before my nan was diagnosed with dementia, she hoovered her real tree as it was shedding its needles too quickly. Never seen a more sad looking Christmas tree.

That is both funny but also very sad.

Real: Looks, feels, smells much nicer. High maintenance but worth it imho.

Guess it's a little sad, but I was in stitches at the time.

North of The Wall - youll need your vest

Always real. The needles arent a problem with having wooden floors, plus I love the smell when you come downstairs in the morning.

And saves having to have to find somewhere for a fake tree to be stored for the rest of the year
