There seems to be a trend over recent years to stretch out any official occasion or event. For instance birthdays have become birthday weeks, Bonfire night Bonfire week and the 12 days of Christmas the 60 days of Chrismas with house decorations already appearing.
I wonder why? |

Christmas is just a commercial event based on a religious celebration which itself was dated to co-incide with an earlier religious festival in an attempt to convert the native populations of countries in Europe to convert to Christianity and be under the control of the church and state.

Humbugs! Love Xmas and the run up to it. I would have lights on from November the first if my oh would let me. Just enjoy it people it will soon be over. |

I think it's sad that there's huge peer pressure NOT to put up decorations early. People should be able to put them up whenever. July if they want.
Or sod it, never take them down!
