I simply choose to ignore it. I used to get angry at it, but now it doesn't bother me.
I celebrate it how I want to, not how adverts and gift catalogues tell me to. |

I'm actually getting in the mood and realised I've inadvertantly got most of my shopping. Me and mother have got to go down the centre and choose two old dears to invite for Christmas lunch. Said I wouldn't after my last experience but I'm over that now |

I could quite happily never celebrate Christmas again. I would also happily volunteer again but appreciate that crystal wants to see her family. We've already decided that we aren't buying each other presents (both of our birthday's are in December anyway) but will donate advent calenders and gift boxes to the local food bank instead.
To me much of Christmas focuses entirely on the least attractive character traits found in society. Greed, selfishness, glutony, materialism. Non of this is a good thing |

Personally, I would prefer to NOT celebrate Christmas, however, I have two young children and consider that it would be unfair to them to ignore it completely.
Last year I specifically asked family to abstain from getting me anything.
My reasons? I am an Atheist and as such I feel it hypocrytical to celebrate what is, in essence, a religious festival. |
