Have you ever bought a Christmas album and saw songs on the track list and wondered why are they on there?
I've done that from time to time and thought they should not be on these albums as they've got nothing to do with Christmas. Here are a couple of examples:
Over The Rainbow
Mad World
The reason I picked these songs as Over The Rainbow is from The Wizard of Oz and Mad World is just so very depressing.
Anyone get what I mean? |

"Was it that slowed down mad world remake or the original upbeat one!"
The remake that somehow became Christmas No.1 even though it is not a Christmas song at all. |

I remember spotting Angels by Robin Williams and I Believe In Angels by Westlife on a couple of albums as well.
I've nothing against the songs as they are real good ones but they were never Christmas songs to begin with. |

"Sometimes I think they just put them on there if they happened to be No1 at xmas "
Even so, being No.1 shouldn't automatically class them as a Christmas song, should it? |

Isn't it a song about child abuse ? Not very festive at all. |

You're right there yet this song still comes on at Christmas on music channels. They need to take this song off at it does not belong at Christmas at all. |

I've just looked up what the song Mad World is about and its about a young lad who feels left out of place in the world and thinks life is empty and wants to end the pain hence the element of suicide in the song.
Why would a song about depression and thoughts of suicide be given Christmas No.1? Its insane. |
