Time to hit the gym - hard (ish)

No more excuses.

I joined one of those 24 hour ones last week - but I'm yet to use it!!

My reason/excuse has been that I'm having to exercise alone as my friends are members of other more expensive establishments.

Best bet may be to join some classes first - get into a habit of just going.

If I'm going to continue with my intellectual endeavours with any success - I need to get my body finely tuned... Agghhhh!

Sorry for the rant

Somewhere in North Norfolk

I prefer to use a gym alone, although I'm not using an gym.

Get there, music on, do my work out, get home.

I'm not there to chat and if I can chat, I'm not working hard enough.

I'm not particularly au fait with some of the exercises I wish to do: squats/deadlifts

Also, I feel uncertain about the combinations.... Chest and back.... Shoulders and toes.... Etc etc

I'm sure it's not rocket science and there probably isn't one right way of becoming stronger, faster... I wish there was!

Surely there will be staff who can set up a programme for you ?

The last thing they want is for you to injure yourself or worse break something

I gave up my gym membership last year because I couldn't afford it

But I wish I was still going as I'd rather be on a treadmill today than running in this weather

There's a lot to it, you need to sus out your goals then apply the science to your training and eat for your gains with plenty rest, don't over train. A 4 day split is best - chest/tri's, delts/traps, lats/bi's then quads and calves.

I've given myself 3 days to start with.... 2 in the week and one weekend...

Will try a class tonight... Get in the groove.

My goals are all round fitness...

Strength, stamina and flexibility.

Looks like you've got your regime sussed!
