Best was Pierce Bronsnan
Then Timothy Dalton
Then probably Sean Connery
Roger Moore was just far too cheesy
Haven't seen any of Daniel Craig's films - through choice. He just doesn't 'look' like James Bond to me - more like a Bond Villain - so can't really comment on him |

heard the next one starts filming in December
Had a pub discussion about new vs old bond films and the old ones with the cheesy one liners and gadgets won hands down
Minister of Defence: My God, what's Bond doing?
Q: I think he's attempting re-entry, sir

I only wish I hadn't seen the Daniel Craig films. He is awful, and as you say does not look like Bond. Casino Royale is easily one of the worst films ever. 2 hours of watching someone play cards |

Although the spy who loved me is probably the greatest opening scene on any film.
Shagging fit Russian spy, downhill ski chase through Austrian woods kills a baddie , skis over roof of building, pumping music, jumps off cliff, music quits, free falls in silence for 5 seconds, union jack parachute, cue title track... Nobody does it better... |

Daniel Craig is probably the nearest to the Bond in the original books. He was, after all, an assassin first and foremost. The film Bonds have just been entertaining spies until now. |

I am pretty sure Fleming never described Bond as an ugly blonde bloke with zero charisma or personality

"For me, the Daniel Craig ones are the only films that capture the mood and spirit of the books.
All the others are just family feelgood cheese and I find them tedious to watch"
Same for me. I like the way Daniel Craig portrays Bond most out of all of them. I have read Carte Blanche though and Daniel Craig doesn't match the description of Bond in that at all so it'll be interesting to see what they do if they turn it into a film. |

Roger Moore for me was the best. Loved the eyebrow raises and the great funny one liners he came out with. He also always used to drive a Lotus which was my fave Bond car, and he got the sexiest Bond girls aswel. |

I like Daniel Craig the best. I particularly like his trademark 'looking around' after he's killed someone. Appears to be closest in actions to the books although Sean Connery, I think was closer in looks. |

I don't think any of them were actually close to Fleming's version.
Wasn't his disguise as a mild mannered salesman in the books.
And I'm not sure he was ever a cold ruthless assassin. |

"My favourite is Timothy Dalton by a mile. He should have been in many more films. Even Ian Fleming said he played Bond the best and nearest to how he'd imagined him."
I think you might be mistaken there.... |

Bond was described in the books and was supposed to look a little bit like a guy called Hoagy Carmichael with a lock of hair falling over his temple. I don't recall him being a salesman.

How the fuck does Timothy Dalton make anyone's list? He was an abomination
He only got the gig because Pierce Brosnan was tied into a contract to do a Remington Steele series that never happened.
Dreadful dreadful dreadful |

He is still better than Daniel Craig. The only reason he got the job is Barbara Broccoli found him sexy... but then she did date James Martin for years, so no accounting for taste. |

I love Daniel Craig. After that dalton.
I hated Moore (it was like my grandad being bond) and George L wasn't a bad bond... It was just a badly directed film. |

Personally i like the newer Daniel Craig ones. The darker grittier films are more watchable for me.
If i was to pick someone else it'd be either Roger Moore or Pierce Brosnan but definitely not Connery!! |
