Just heard on the BBC that the economy of Yorkshire is bigger than that of Scotland.

Can this be true?

I find that hard to believe. I'm too tired to work it out using ONS figures so will leave it to someone else to prove it.

Now don't run me out of town!! But.... I spent my young teen years in Yorkshire.. God they where skinflints.. Even my mother.

I'm from York originally and am anything but tightfisted !! They do say a.Yorkshireman is a.Scotsman too tight to buy a.kilt, but i even have one of those.
