Is that the female equivalent of bbc? |

The only whisky I have bought was a present. Tyriconnel or Tyriconnel? An Irish whisky, soft as silk, without any of the abrasion of other whiskeys I've had. It was a drink you could enjoy all might if you wanted. Gorgeous |

"Jack Daniels or Penderyn"
Whisky, Whiskey, Bourbon.
Ooh - the choice is endless!
The cupboard contains a few - Gentleman Jack, JD Honey, some 21 yr old Glenmorangie in a Ltd Edition Crystal Pot Still decanter, some 12 yr old Glenfiddich, Talisker and Penderyn (even the Welsh are in on the act! )
Always straight over ice or with a little chilled water.

On our honeymoon in Scotland we were speaking to a Scottish barman and he said best way to drink whisky is with a little bit of chilled water!
Penderyn is also nice too x |

I collect whisky, whiskey, bourbon miniatures I'm sorry if this offends the purists, but it's affordable and if I fancy a tasting session, I don't have to open a full bottle.
Now, single malt, or blend? |

I was a barman in Scotland for 5 years so ended up getting quite a taste for a couple of different ones. My favourites are:
1 - lagavulin
2 - port wood glenmorangie (not the new quinta ruben, but the original port wood)
3 - penderyn. Despite my time I'm Scotland a Welsh whisky gets in there! |

"Fireball. Cinnamon based liqueur whiskey
Did you see its been recalled in some places.. I found out after nearly finishing a bottle"
Oh typical... And there's us getting excited at the prospect
It's not a Whisky but a JD single barrel goes down nicely, if it's Scottish it's an 18yr old Glenlivet |

Ardbeg is the king of Whisky IMO.
I also like Bowmore, Laphroaig and Dalwhinnie.
Sadly, my budget rarely stretches to malt -
Of the blended whiskies Ballie Nichol Jarvie is very good, but am currently on Grants, which is the best of the cheaper blends (especially the port barrel stuff)... |

May I suggest a miniature whisky tasers club, on fab?
I think it would be good for the beginners like me, and the not so well off like me, to get to grips with whiskey, what do you think? |

This is correct. Jack Daniels isn't a bourbon. |

Completely agree with you, wouldn't of given it the bourbon label, hence originally saying it's not a "Whisky".
It's not a Tennessee Whisky either, it's actually a Tennessee Whiskey.
Tastes good though (with or without the "e"

I saw about 40/50 different whiskys thee Other day In a shop one bottle was £120
another bottle not much bigger than a bottle of holsten pils and about as wide As a bottle of johnny walker was over £80 similar sized bottles or bigger with Prize tags of £40 up to and over £70 for that price I,d watch it mature and hopefully watch the prize tag go up.. |

"Bushmills Irish Whiskey
Love love an Old Fashioned and Manhatton Whiskey Martini.
Also enjoy some whiskeys neat. "
Can't beat an Old Fashioned. I'm also partial to an occasional Mint Julep as well. |

One of the best whiskys I've ever d*unk was Loch Dhu black whisky. It had a sweet edge and was so 'drinkable'!
Bought it a couple of times from Oddbins years ago, £20odd a bottle. It's no longer produced and sells for over £200 nowadays. |

Jura - Prophecy, Superstition
Bowmore - Laimrig 15 yo
Kininvie - about 12/13 yo
Glenfaclas - 15 yo
The collection is slowly growing, though my favourites tend to be peaty, I do like a mix. -Mr. |

ugh, not fond of peaty or too much charring in the barrel. Malts arent really my thing though
We did a tour of the Bourbon distilleries of Kentucky and tasted plenty, my favourites are from Heaven Hills distillery, Evan Williams black label as "glug" and Elijah Craig 12 year small batch for "best" |

In no order of preference....
Jack Daniels Single Barrel
JD Honey
Glenmorangie La Santa
Genfiddich 18 or 21 year old
Bushmills (mainly for mixing)
I prefer mine with a single small cube of ice made from filtered water, allowed to slowly melt to chill the whiskey.
I also believe in generous measures |
