ok I thought with such a wide variety of people on here I could maybe source some help. I am currently lookimg for a new job.

I have done what I thought was a good CV and I complete a new covering letter for everyjob I apply for. I have applied for over 40 jobs within the last two weeks, through all the employment sites and registered with employment agencies. I have got nothing l.

so my question is what makes a good Cv ? and what buzzwords would you use ? .

thanks Tabitha xx

It's not necessarily that you have a bad cv. There are many many people applying for each job in most cases at the moment.

Agencies will take the people they know they can place easily first because it's easy money.

It's soul destroying but keep at it and remember it's not you, it's the market.

Google for cv advice. There are many great sites which will give more information than we can realistically give here.

Good luck

2 pages. Don't bore the reader with anything other than was is relevant to the employment on offer.

Be consistant with the job on offer, if it is high profile job then word it well.

If it's not so, then word it accordingly.

Don't put anything unnecessary. No pictures. No bad spelling. No poor grammar.

Don't be disheartened by the wall of silence from recruitment companies.

They are sales people at the end of the day so they don't invest much time in candidates unless they think they can really help sell them into a job.

thanks I had not looked at it like that . and as my skills were not gained in an office environment . I suppose they feel I would be difficult to sell as a package . x
