I've a dog and i've a garden, just bought the house n don't want yellow patches on my lawn from my beloved dog pissing on it.
Anyway I was told you can buy STONES that you put in the dogs water bowl n it stops the dog piss damaging your lawn.
So has anyone used this and does it work? |

I have seen them in pets at home and the person there was explaining them to us but we have not tried them.....our dogs are so naughty that they kept trying to dig to Australia so out grass decided to leave home negating the need for stones.....I would be curious if you decide to try them out and if they work for you  |

Old newspapers work best of all, when the pup is about to wee, you put the paper under him, and continue doing so. After a bit, he will start looking for the paper when he wants to go, you gradually move the papaer to the door, then outside, to wherever you want him to do it.....x |

yea ive read that they work,not actually met any dog owners that have tried em on their dogs though"
I used them and they worked for my bitches but you do have to change them every 6 months, stops the acid in their urine  |

Ive asked the dog what he thinks and he's not wanting rocks in his water bowl in fact he thinks its ridiculous waste of money and thinks its better spent on biscuits |

Doesn't work, and dog urine contains an alkaline and not acid. In essence it's pee over fertilises the spot it wee's on, killing the grass. But towards the edge of the patch, the wee has become weaker and it then works as a fertiliser and you get a pare patch surrounded by a ring of lush growth.

My cat peed in my exes new shoes. God, I love that cat!!!! 
I wouldn't go for the stones just in case. Just follow him with a watering can and flush it. That's what I did with my Scottie and no burnt patches. |
