United Biscuits (Mcvities) has been sold off to a Turkish company called Yildiz Holdings for £2 billion.

As long as they don't fuck about with Jaffa Cakes, by turning them into Turkish Delight Cakes.

I think you've missed a marketing opportunity there

It may have initially been a British company but since 2006 it's been in the hands of a consortium consisting of the Blackstone Group (American private equity firm) and PAI Partners (French private equity firm).

So technically stopped being British years ago.

Still - I've just eaten an entire packet of chocolate cream hobnobs and a packet of vanilla cheesecake digestives (currently 50p a packet each at a certain supermarket!) - so as long as they still make biscuits I really don't give a toss who owns them!

Since there's no shame, I don't work for them/own shares and therefore couldn't possibly be construed as commercial spam.........

Slightly off topic but didn't they shut the transit van factory and move that to Turkey as well

Better get friendly with the Turks.

When they join the E.U., there will be lots of friendly Turks here. I love them
