"Anyway, when did we become America and start calling films movies?
We have our own language, must we adopt theirs?"
Love it, a fellow grump.
Add to that proms, couldn't wait to get away from school and we were certainly not going to bankrupt our parents to parade around in clothes on a par in expense to our wedding finery with people we disliked.
Baby showers, ugh!.
Raised intonation so every sentence ends in a question, mind, that's more of a antipodean thing I think.
Clapping at every bloody thing...
Color, harbor, thru as in drive thru, for idle people, saw a drive "thru" coffee shop the other day for gods sake.
What next, a drive "thru " "bathroom"?.
Bloody Yanks, what have they done for us?

"If you haven't seen this movie yet, go and see it. 10/10
Probs the best movie out at the moment"
I read the book last year, was gripped, excellent read but I'll wait for it to come to sky rather than pay to see it as I often get disappointed by film adaptations |

"It was a brilliant film, good twist as well.
Scary thought though, there are people like that out there."
Yip.. Read the book. And the ending was good . certainly a change. For once the 'bad guy' got away with it. Like life sometimes justice does not prevail. |

"I read the book but haven't seen the film. Ben A is putting me off seeing it
The ending sucks though! "
Saw the film. Loved it. Tbh Ben Affleck isn't my fav actor but he is good in this film. Lovely shoulders and arms. Just finished the book yesterday. Really enjoyed it too. Win win for me. |

Saw it a couple of weeks ago, started promisingly but end was a bit anti-climatic (hadn't read the book). 7 out of 10 for me but Rosamund Pike looked amazing in it |

Rosamund Pike is one of my favourite actresses currently, her stock is currently rising, thought she was good.. the film would get a solid 6 and a half, Ms Pike would get an 8. |

"I read the book so that kind of puts me off seeing the film.
It was really decent but just had such a weak ending that it pretty much ruined the previous 400+ pages for me "
This...exactly this. J read the book, not me. When we saw the film, the ending was really poor, typically a 'chuck flick' type ending. Don't mean to be sexist about it, but could tell it was written by a woman. And J agreed with me. |
