How good are you at saying a final goodbye to someone, family or friends ect or acquaintances moving or leaving jobs ect.

I had to say goodbye to someone this week whose been a big part of my life for 20 years, I'm pretty crap at it but handled it really well

I'm bad at saying goodbye. The waterworks always start. Especially if it's a family member.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

It depends on who it is, what the relationship has been, what they or I are going on to do.

I don't really say goodbye as I have found people reappear in my life. It's more of a farewell for now.

Work colleagues no problem either. I've never really struck up friendships at work.

I'm better at funerals than having to say goodbye to someone in person

I have built some really strong and enduring friendships at work. Others have been just for the time I am there. People stay in touch with me as they may want me to be their reference though, whether they liked me at work or not.

I don't remember anything about my dad or sister's funerals. I'm a wreck at close friends,I couldn't go to my best friend's mum's funeral because I was already ill and couldn't cope

I have had so many goodbyes I am de-sensitised to it all.

Better a goodbye than disappearing into the ether

I was not too bad at my fathers funeral, the ones that I really have problems handling are former pupils, where they were so young. I didnt have any dates on the order of service for my husbands funeral because I didnt want reminding he was only 49

Glad you're not off Diamond, we're not at your birthday yet. Counting down though.

I'm not particularly good at goodbyes as I find them tough.

Depends in what context. If its someone dying then I just say good night god bless its time to move on. If its some one else its take care

Pretty crap! Like tonight cried most of the night at work after saying goodbye to someone on here! Check the girl that has feelings, shouldn't let it worry me or bother me but it does.

I come across as very cold, I don't cry or make a fuss, just get the parting done. Then go home and bawl my eyes out if it's goodbye to a loved one or dear friend and keep my misery private.

Greater London

Friends and family get me really upset but I try and wait until I am home.

A very few work colleagues who I really counted as friends too by the end upset me when they moved on.

Some work relatated deaths that occurred where devastating but that was more at the start of my career. I have fortunately become thicker skinned but babies and children dying still break my heart and I tend to cry pretty quickly but in private....
