My reason for asking is cause some women and couples page say they get lots of messages and apologise for late reply. So I'm curious it's true or one of those reverse psychology thing |

Err, messages.... No idea about the total but new people in a day that would like to talk, maybe 4 or so. |

I sometimes go weeks without getting a message, but other times get lots from different people, but get more if I post pictures. |

Total messages recieved per day is going to be upwards of 50 depending on the day. I like to talk a lot to someone before I meet them, usually.

Some days it's lots of new ones some days it's none at all
If I'm chatting to a prospective meet or to someone i know then I could exchange upwards of 50 in an evening with ease

I don't really chat that much to people on here,most of my proper chatting is done with existing friends away from the site
Occassionally I'll be chatting to someone who sparks a massive interest,there are some lovely people on here  |

Virtually none anymore. I'm not looking to meet so I don't proactively message new people anymore. My friends have all got better things to do at the moment so we haven't chatted for a while. I had a nice chat a week ago when I received a message on the back of a forum post. But apart from that my last message received was 5 days ago with the Lotto numbers on it |

It's true.
My profile is hidden and I am still getting messages. Usually by the same people I ignored previously.
Average about 10-20 people in ten minutes when not hidden, but my profile is in an area that is on the middle of several large towns, and couple of cities nearby. |

There's a very select few I speak to reasonably regularly - I always struggle with the right amount of messaging though - I sometimes think I do too much so then cut back. Then hope I'm not sending too few ... ah it's a balancing act isn't it!?! I'm sure I get the mix all wrong!! |

This week so far we have had 5 messages in total.
3 of them are from the same person who's on our friends list.
1 about a comment I made on a thread.
1 from someone showing interest in a meet.
On average we get 0 - 10 messages per week. After looking at other replies we must come across as miserable unapproachable buggers.

I changed my settings 2 days ago so only 99 year old men can message me. I'm currently now on 348 unread messages but I'm reading 3 day old messages, they'll go up to 4 or 5 days old cos I cleared everything from my inbox Saturday evening.
It's appreciated but makes me feel bad deleting messages, the male to female ratio on here is insane. |

I get up to 6 messages a day from folk I've never spoken to before...I have lots of filters in place and I will only answer those that send me a joke in their first message...of these, maybe 1 or 2 "could" lead to an eventual meet (depending on circumstances, either pretty soon or I'm still waiting (yes Brightonsteve, I mean you)) |

Depends how chatty I'm feeling. There's a few people on here I chat to regularly or every now and again. Somedays that can be lots of messaging back and forth, others when I'm tired or don't have much to say, not a lot.
I hardly send approach messages so no replies to wait for. Prefer to go on interest coming my way |

I remember joining and being inundated with messages for a profile with fuck all in it and no photos...however, one of the guys who messaged me was my mate's fella and I remember messaging back to him whilst being on the phone to my mate saying "Here, is your couples profile ******* cos I reckon your bloke's just messaged me"....other than that, yep I got verified on my first weekend on here |

All of my 'looking for' parameters are purposefully blank at the moment so I don't appear in that many searches. In terms of messages I probably average between 30 and 40 a day back and forth with people I chat to on here regularly. I made the rookie mistake of uploading my Halloween avatar before going away for a few days however and my unread messages are now piling up (I tend to read and respond to new messagers daily on my laptop since I can type better than on my phone plus it also gives you the 'go to next unread' option, which makes life easier). It's currently over 200 unread new contact messages since Monday. This isn't a regular occurrence though so I should get back on top of it when I get home on Friday. I hope. |
