"Today is National stroke day
Bad taste Sir. "
Well actually I don't agree entirely...
I had no idea it was national stroke day today until the op put up a lighthearted thread
I'm not sure if it really matters how people are reminded of or made aware of such issues, rather that they are.
It's a bit of fun and not meant to be offensive, it might not be ideal but it brought people's minds into focus |

I would call this black humour.
I personally think it's better to be light hearted about it to raise awareness than it is to frown upon any mention of it.
You'll find in any healthcare setting black humour is the norm.
Otherwise we would all just cry and remain oblivious to signs and symptoms
Just my opinion |

Chill out people,My OH has had 2 strokes in 2 years and has just gone back to work for the first time today since he had his last one at the beginning of the year
Im not offended and neither would he be,he would see the humour and when I tell him its national stroke day I expect he'll be wanting a stroke when he gets in later |

There was a 27 year old on daybreak tv who suffered a stroke last year. Totally unexpected, symptoms of severe headaches and other symptoms, must have been horrible. she is on there now |
