Are they for lazy people who can't make the effort to write a message and expect the person who received the wink to message them first?

This is what we do, I don't see the point in writing out long messages if they have no interest in us

I never pay attention to winks.

Or to friend invites from people who have never chatted to me.

I've never looked at who winks at me. That would mean opening every bloody profile to read.

its ironic that the op asks if winks are lazy, if he had used the search feature he would have seen the other wink threads currently running

This must be some unwritten code that everyone else knows except me. I always just delete them.

Depends on who does the winking first! If it's a guy then many people WILL see it as lazy and a lot will block you!

So whilst the 'wink, wink, message' scenario seems great in an ideal world, use this approach cautiously to avoid a 'wink, block' outcome!

We aren't meeting singles at the moment but when we do they are treated the same, if they wink us and we interested then we'll send 1 back just like we would with couples

That's good to hear

There are a lot of profiles on here that say 'winks (and in some cases friend requests etc) will be blocked' though. I guess it all comes down to reading the profile properly first!

South Coast

I've recently started to wink at people I'm interested in... Sometimes they wink back so I message them, or sometimes they message me. Sometimes they even ignore my wink

That it does

If people don't read profiles then it's there own fault

Everyone uses this site differently and for different things and they have the right to do what they want, if there wishes aren't followed then fair play to them for blocking people, whether it be a single or a couple

They are better than cut and paste messages from people I don't think they are lazy just an indication of interest and far less hassle and easier to skip over if that is what you want.
