For what? Selling stuff? I know too many people that have been swizzled by scammers on there lately.

I find local selling sites on Facebook better and saves messing about with postage costs.

I don't use eBay. I stick to Gumtree and Facebook local selling pages to sell and occasionally buy stuff.

hiding from cock pics.

EBay are harsh on sellers now, thrybalwside side with the buyer in a dispute and if the item is faulty or etc ( or the buyer claims it is) the seller has to refund the buyer in full and if they be any by he item back they also must pay the return postage.

The fees are high too.

This said you have access to a big market of buyers and marketing, although with that comes competition x

I have never sold anything on the Internet and I only buy from places like Amazon or proper stores.

Come to think of it I have never sold anything I have previously owned apart from cars or houses.

I have used ebay for years with 100% positive feedback. I struggle to get the things we need in regular shops at a cost I can afford.

Yes occasionally it doesn't work out but find it great.

Agreed. Gumtree is great and eBay are too expensive these days. Do they still do the diamond free ads??

Just spent the past few days posting clothes that don't fit. Hoping they will all sell. My poor washing machine isn't looking too happy with the extra work.

I buy a lot from eBay but rarely sell anything. For selling pages I tend to use Facebook or Gumtree.

I use used sandwell for selling but I guess that's only good for people in the sandwell area

I buy from ebay but by the time you have paid theirs and PayPal fees selling on there is getting expensive

"Is there a better alternative?"

I've been using e-bay for about 15 years and got 100% positive feedback. I've never had any problems. When selling insist on payment by paypal and only send to the address registered to the account.

We buy and sell a lot on Ebay - just got a new pair of thigh-boots today for £16 delivered to my door, so very happy

Their seller's fees have gone up, but they have loads of free listings weekends, so we wait for those to sell stuff.

Anybody want to buy a pair of brand-new thigh-boots, only £20 + p&p??!!

Somewhere in North Norfolk

I've got loads of stuff to sell, which I've been putting off for months because it's such a hassle, so I've been debating this recently too.

Ebay is expensive for sellers now and they do usually side with the buyer, meaning it's easy to be scammed.

I may try Gumtree before considering ebay.

"Ur local small shopping centre "

Unfortunately I don't want to shop at 34 charity shops 9 pound stores 23 bookies 4 wetherspoons and a bright house. Councils as well as the net have destroyed town centres, stupidly high parking charges , greedy rates etc mean we are more likely to head out of town or order on the net.

A 'friend' on my facebook sells just about everything she has finished with.

Pair of grey slippers, £1. Collection only.

I bet her hubby goes nuts when he gets home and he cant find them as she has flogged them. The things are old and smelly anyway.

Who the fuck buys this shit?

Been a user of Ebay for a number of years now. We have 100% feedback but it's recently got worse. It's great for buying but for selling the charges are ridiculous. I've lost out a few times when posting out items then the buyer claimed not to have recieved them, but not had the time or energy of going through Royal Mail to make a claim (as you can if you have proof you dispatched the item) obviously now I send items recorded delivery but that extra cost goes to the buyer, great for items you find hard to get hold of but not so good for selling. Shame the Internet is killing the high streets

I have been using ebay for 10 years which it have been very good until the last maybe 3/4 years which I noticed it's getting harder to sell stuff at a sensible and reasonable price due the high ebay and Paypal commission fees and the postage have increased aswell, cant really make any money on it anymore and doesn't seem worth the hassle, I have been trying to get rid of unwanted stuff at the last two weeks, only sold one item out of 12!

Ebay is good if you want to buy something, think I ought to try Gumtree soon.
