I dont use the trains as its so expensive. I cannot imagine that the ticket cost on these new lines will make encourage anyone to use the routes.

Are they projects that are really worth it?

I feel sorry for the poor sods who are trying to sell there homes, but cant because the tracks may or may not be passing near there property

Cost won't be an issue if it company's expensing it - the time saved will outweigh this.

I don't currently have the luxury of driving (epilepsy, had to surrender my license) so I'd use the HS2 for Manchester/Leeds trips. I'm mainly excited about the Crossrail route.
