Smokey And The Bandit should most definitely NOT be remade. The original is sacred and a modern reboot would kill it.

It would be a pc CGI-fest.

Plus nothing on Earth is as cool as Burt Reynolds in a Trans Am....

Ah, breaker one-nine, this heres the rubber duck. you gotta copy on me, pig pen, cmon?

ah, yeah, 10-4, pig pen, fer shure, fer shure. by golly, its clean clear to flag town, cmon.

yeah, that Big 10-4 there, pig pen, yeah, we definitely got the front door, good buddy. mercy sakes alive, looks like we got us a convoy...

It was the dark of the moon on the sixth of June

And a Kenworth pullin' logs

Cab-over Pete with a reefer on

And a Jimmy haulin' hogs

We's headin' for bear on Eye-one-O

'bout a mile outta Shakeytown

I says "Pigpen, this here's Rubber Duck"

"And I'm about to put the hammer down"

('cause we got a little ole convoy rockin' thru the night)

(Yeah, we got a little ole convoy, ain't she a beautiful sight?)

(Come on and join our convoy, ain't nothin' gonna get in our way)

(We gonna roll this truckin' convoy 'cross the USA)

(Convoy)

[on the cb]

Ah, breaker, pig pen, this heres the duck. and, you wanna back off them hogs?

yeah, 10-4, bout five mile or so. ten, roger.

them hogs is gettin in-tense up here.

By the time we got into Tulsa-town we had 85 trucks in all

But there's a roadblock up on the cloverleaf

And them bears 's wall-to-wall

Yeah, them smokeys 's thick as bugs on a bumper

They even had a bear in the air

I says "Callin' all trucks, this here's the Duck"

"We about to go a-huntin' bear"

('cause we got a great big convoy rockin' thru the night)

(Yeah, we got a great big convoy, ain't she a beautiful sight?)

(Come on and join our convoy, ain't nothin' gonna get in our way)

(We gonna roll this truckin' convoy 'cross the USA)

(Convoy)

[on the cb]

Ah, you wanna give me a 10-9 on that, pig pen? negatory, pig pen; youre still too close. yeah,

them hogs is startin to close up my sinuses. mercy sakes, you better back off another ten.

Well, we rolled up Interstate Forty-Four

Like a rocket-sled on rails

We tore up all of our swindle sheets

And left 'em settin' on the scales

By the time we hit that "Chi-town"

Them bears was a-gettin smart

They brought up some reinforcements

From the "Illinois" National Guard

There's armored cars and tanks and jeeps

'n' rigs of ev'ry size

Yeah, them chicken coops was full of bears

And choppers filled the skies

Well, we shot the line, we went for broke

With a thousand screamin' trucks

And eleven long-haired friends of Jesus

In a chartreuse microbus

[on the cb]

Ah, rubber duck to sodbuster, come over. yeah, 10-4, sodbuster? lissen, you wanna put that micra-bus right behind that suicide jockey?

yeah, hes haulin dynamite, and he needs all the help he can hear.

Well, we laid a strip for the Jersey Shore

Prepared to cross the line

I could see the bridge was lined with bears

But I didn't have a doggone dime

I says "Pigpen, this here's the Rubber Duck"

"We just ain't a-gonna pay no toll"

So we crashed the gate doin' ninety-eight

I says "let them truckers roll, ten-four"

('cause we got a mighty convoy rockin' thru the night)

(Yeah, we got a mighty convoy, ain't she a beautiful sight?)

(Come on and join our convoy, ain't nothin' gonna get in our way)

(Convoy!) ah, 10-4, pig pen, whats your twenty?

(Convoy!) omaha? well, they oughta know what to do with them hogs out there fer shure. well, mercy

(Convoy!) sakes, good buddy, we gonna back on outta here, so keep the bugs off your glass and the bears off your...

(Convoy!) tail. well catch you on the flip-flop. this heres the rubber duck on the side.

(Convoy!) we gone. bye,bye.

(We gonna roll this truckin' convoy 'cross the USA)

(Convoy)

Titz Towers, North Notts

I can imagine the Fab Version.

RustyNuts and Miss Cheeky Chops are driving a Nissan Micra attempting to get to Morrisons on Sunday afternoon before 4PM in order to stock up on bread and milk, as the next day is a bank holiday and the whole country bar 7 have been panic shopping to stock up. It features Fireblade as the leader of a Motorbike gang: Sons of the fairly miffed. Polk plays a cheeky London cabbie who spends the whole movie talking in rhyming slang, but in the American release is dubbed by Miss Cariadus in a Welsh accent for no reason. Mysterious Guy plays a the Snowman who like in Duel, you only see his fist and a glimpse of an arm (extended scene on dvd silver version) Tempting Devil plays a Trucker's Moll. Other truckers break in on the CB to tell everyone they are parked up in a layby and are on their own.

The sheriff is played by Popeye, as I'd like to see him do a rootin tootin Southun accent. He sits in his panda car (an old Vauxhall Chevette - no expense spared, folks) on a couple of cushions, as he's a pocket rocket. In the back of his car is Lickety, sat in handcuffs for reasons she knows why (I'm not jealous much!).

Wheels of Crystal Wheels, gets a cameo appearance, where he nearly gets knocked off his bike during the high speed chase along a one way system. He loses control and goes crashing into a UKIP demo on the theme of uKippers are people too.

Cast of Morrisons include Obi as security, wielding a rolled up copy of the Mail, or a rolled up bit of paper printed off from his newsfeed with the Mail article on. Shoppers include Toshn, View, GentlemenBen, Marmite and Shag. Chyllyphylly is at custom service where the girl is having a lot of fun trying to spell his name. I'm the checkout girly, sat playing with my tits and checking my make up whilst passing judgment on people's purchases whilst a huge queue builds.

Scarlet, VV and Lickawitch play the public gallery and just heckle everyone.

I'd watch it.

It was a foggy day on the sixth of May

In a Scammell haulin' bricks

It was just crackin' dawn and I started to yawn

Cos I couldn't find any nice chicks.

I'd tried Newport Pagnell, Toddington,

And even Watford Gap,

But after so many eggs and chips, sausage and beans

What I really needed was a nap.

It's a lonely life, truck driving

But it's better than a bike

Cos when you're up in the cab, you're the king of the road

And it's dead romantic, like.

And then I remembered my two-way radio,

So I started feelin' better,

And I thought "I'll start a convoy"

"You know, just like that American feller."

I have all three on DVD.

A remake just wouldn't capture the magic of the original.

1st one was the best, and had the best car.

3rd didn't have Burt Reynolds.

Ah, if it were a panto, then that means we'd have bad weather and so they would be driving at 10 mph all the way, as everyone would be panicking due to 1" of snow
