Can anyone who's already got it recommend it?

Are you able to tell a big difference between normal broadband and fibre optic?

Thanks E & M

We have this with virginmedia. It never lags, is faster than the phone line Internet we had previously, yeah much better overall. We used it for laptop, ps3 and phone all at once and never been capped for using too much.

Costs £32 a month and well worth it.

At the moment I'm away from home and on my phone so missing my proper Internet badly.

It depends if it is truly fibre or not. If its fibre to the box then copper line to your house its marginally better but not worth extra price tag! If its fibre all the way through then yes, it is loads better. Steer clear of talktalk full stop

Before we had our fibre optic BB we were in the steam age of internet. Took hours to download a single episode of our favourite shows. Now we can download a whole series in the same times streaming tv/music or films is easy now.

We use Virgin too, 100mb is proper quick. We have 3 PCs and 2 IPads running at the same time, along with 4 phones.... Never a problem.

Oh I dunno, I have this and it increased my speed from 2MB to 40 MB. £20 unlimited with Sky.

Only because I can't get cable though.

How would I know about the type of phoneline I'm using

We had the misfortune of being with talktalk before so dont worry we won't be going anywhere near that S***e company again!

2.4mb was a fast as we could get with broadband after cycling through ISPs. Got fibre and now we have 100mb. The difference is amazing.

We only have copper to our house - this isn't actually a problem at all.

Should tell you on your bill. Does with virginmedia (online bill or paper one).

I've just got fibre, its only fibre to the cabinet, but its about 10x faster than my previous service which was dire and it costs me only £2/month more.

I'm on normal bb and I'm getting 40meg to my router and on wireless I get 32meg so it's pretty fast but my isp is upgrading to 80meg early next year, not sure on the price of that as yet

Virgin have just upped mine from 100mb to 140mb for free. I can pretty much download an entire HD movie in less time than it takes to make a brew!

Definitely worth the extra.
