Why do most have such a downer on winks. Surely it is a good way to gauge initial interest. I am fed up with composing thoughtful, in my opinion, e mails putting lots of effort in to not even get a " no thanks". Surely if you wink and get one back there is at least a spark of some sort? Then we can let the games begin with more adventurous contact |

i like winks. It's a gentle opener for some people.
What I don't understand is when you get winks from those with no public pics - genuinely don't understand what they hope the next move will be |

Winks are ok if there's enough on the profile for me to determine if I am interested.
A wink from a person with a "will fill in later" profile and nothing but a photo will be ignored. I put effort into my profile so I'm not going to make the effort to get to know someone who just can't be bothered.
It's more difficult to catch my attention with a wink but it is possible. If I receive a wink from someone I'm interested in, I wink back. It's then up to them to make the next move. |
