Any soft fleshy area or any area where it's just skin and bone (ankle etc) will be sore but it's a rights of passage kinda pain, ie. it hurts at the time but worth it afterwards.
If you're thinking of little butterflies on your derriere then that shouldn't hurt too much at all. Let us know how it goes.

I have 13 tattoos now. Some on fleshy areas, mainly on bone areas. Biggest one is on my back, straight down my spine.
None of mine hurt. I fell asleep during the second sitting of my back design. But I do have a high pain threshold.
Main no go areas, include the colour bit of your nipples (bleeds like a bitch apparently), if you are diabetic some tattooists won't do your feet. And some tattooists charge an extra fee if its in a place that is likely to move during the session, hands, feet, neck, etc. |

I've got tattoos and plan to get more. It's not a pain that is unbearable, it's just a scratchy feeling, it feels sore but it's not pain.
The worst areas are feet and the inside of your arm.
Think very carefully about the design and position before you commit to it....remember, it's for life! |

pain goes for the person really, nobody can say yes it hurts or no it doesn't, because everyone has a different reaction to pain. i've not got any ink yet, but i know enough to be able to say you won't know fully till you get one done.
as for where to and not to: there isn't really a no to that. there's places that'll hurt more and places that'll fade out quicker. i know people personally who have their nipple fully tattooed over, i am aquainted with a guy called smiley because he has a smiley face on his 'red end' and i've seen videos on youtube of people getting an eye tattoo. for the most extreme example of where you can get tattooed, google a guy called lucky diamond rich. he's the worlds most tattooed man. and by tattooed, i mean TATTOOED |

"Be different and don't have one... "
tattooing, and body modification in general, shouldn't be about being different, it should be about being yourself. if you do it to be different, you're doing it wrong |

I have 3 tattoos and plan to have 1 more across the bottom of my back.
None of the ones I had hurt too much (shoulders and cleavage). The next one I want will go across the bottom of my back. |

Was in Falmouth last week and I saw a tall leggy lady, wearing skimpy shorts, and she had "lacey garters" tattooed on both her thighs, and a seam down the back of both her legs
Sexiest tatts I've ever seen |

I love ink and have a fair bit and want more. Yes they hurt but its bearable and well worth it. Have something you like. Not bloody tribal though. A tattoo for some one that wants a tattoo but hasn't got an imagination to think up something they want. |

I have four, one on shoulder, one on boob, one on bum and one on the ankle, for each one there was a different degree of pain and were pretty sore afterwards but I'm soon going for a fifth across my spin and I have a low tolerance to pain and a needle phobia but it's worth it if it's a design you really love, I designed each one of mine myself |
