Seeing as its just over two months to go :
I'm off to my daughters for Xmas and her and her partner aren't that fussed about having a roast dinner on the day.
What would be your perfect meal for Xmas if the usual one was banned. |

I'm absolutely not answering your question I know but quite simply I can't even begin to contemplate anything other than the traditional Turkey with all the trimmings on Christmas Day!
Bring it on!!! |

I'm going to be having either Beans on Toast or a Pizza this year.
Really not into Christmas - only do it for my kids, and this year I have them between Boxing Day and New Years Eve |

MAMOBA, miles and miles of bugger all (Aberdeenshire) |
My son will be away christmas day, so this year it may well be steak and home made chips, after a lovely long walk on the beach.
We're celebrating a different day, and no doubt will do a roast that day (but not turkey as its a waste with only 2 of us) |

As there is only me and my little one. I asked him what he wanted for Xmas dinner. He said bbq chicken wings and mini sausages. So that's what we are having. |

It's always got to be Christmas dinner for me, it's traditional and just wouldn't feel the same.
If, however I had to choose something else just for arguments sake...I like the suggestion before about a curry.
I'd have chicken biryani, dansak sauce, garlic naan bread, poppadoms, and onion bhaji...nom nom nom!
I really shouldn't comment on threads about food when I'm hungry....I've made that mistake twice now in the last hour! |

Assuming you still want a special day dinner, why not try another cusine Christmas dinner.,We spent last Christmas in France and cooked a traditional French Christmas dinner..it was gorgeous. |

I think we're actually going down the nibbles route, although I will be making lemon curd trifle for pub. |

I'd be a bit sad if the traditional meal was banned because a good roast oo err) is one of my favourite meals.
If I had to pick something else I might go for a really good homemade lasagne with garlic bread. |
