30 bloody years I have been working since leaving school at 15 same shit day in day out.

Yes thankfully I have been working and never been unemployed.

I am lucky and thankful for that.

But good god somedays I feel like putting my head in a mincing machine.

Work eat sleep repeat, work eat sleep repeat........

If you dont enjoy your job, try and get out of it as life is too short to get to retirement and think 'Ive wasted my life doing that shit'.

No I wouldn't prefer the alternative that's obvious.

But just like everyone else some days it does feel pointless.

Somewhere in North Norfolk

Try a new direction. There must be other things you could do.

Ok so it's not a great time to be looking for a job but it doesn't hurt to look.

Yes I felt like that and luckily for me in July things all came together at the right time to allow me to step off the merry go round. It's easy to say "count your blessings" but difficult to do sometimes. Do you have any annual leave, an you take even an afternoon to just go off and forget it all?

I know it wasn't meant to be funny but you did make me chuckle. Some days I feel like this is Groundhog Day... it happens to us all.

Only another 30+ years till I can retire... now there's a depressing thought!

Well I've just been made unemployed for the first time in 39 years and believe me I'd rather be in your shoes fella.

I am sorry you have lost your job.

Been there myself,I have been very fortunate and always found work being a carpenter.

But I tend to get like this when winter arrives, with the prospect of doing lots of outside work looms in the near distance.

Work sucks

Being unemployed would suck even more.

So I am happy to be working even tho it sucks.

Hope you find further employment soon.

And also retirement for me will probably be mid 70's coz that's when my mortgage runs out :-S
