Anybody had any issues with these? I bought a 2011 model a few years back (which wasn't cheap) and its stopped working tonight after doing some investigating it turns out it's the graphics card (the chip expands and shrinks with temperature) and this is apparently a common problem, I'm out of warranty and if I pay £200 to have the same fitted it'll go again or I pay £300 to have a uprated one fitted. I also read there is a 10,000signature petition handed into Apple by disgruntled owners!

Had the same issue took mine back to store your still covered by European law which is 6 years. This was a fault with the machine before you bought it.

manchester & NI

The Sale of Goods Act should cover you but you have to take it up with the seller and not the manufacturer.

So if you bought it from PC World for example, then you'd have to contact PC World and not the Apple store.

If you need the key parts to the Sale of Goods Act relevant to your MBP I can post them here.
