I can't talk, as I am a loud snorer myself. Hence I always have a supply of earplugs available for anyone staying overnight!
Or I'd go downstairs to sleep on the sofa instead. |

Serious point for a mo' - If a bloke is snoring badly, and it sounds like he is 'choking' during the snore, he could possibly have Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA).
I have this condition - a lot of blokes have it though undiagnosed. It's basically where you don't breath properly when sleeping and then feel shit the next day.
It is easily treated with a machine which blows air down your nose (called CPAP) when you're asleep. |

And that is like sleeping in a wind tunnel especially when the other person is breathing right next your ears!
Sorry, been there, done that, got the T-shirt etc... |

My ex snored like an asthmatic pig, I used to find if I tickled the end of his nose he would roll over and stop snoring for a little while. Not a permanent solution but even ten minutes respite was welcome. xxxx |

my ex was a snorer , off the richter scale !
the best off the shelf product were Boots snore strips - you put them on the soft palate at the back of the throat and they dissolve there. Works like the sprays I guess, but seemed much more effective , for him anyhow.
I'm a sleep talker, and occasional walker, so even though I dont think I snore Im still a nightmare to share a bed with! |

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else |
I used to have entire conversations with the ex when she was asleep.
Usually consisted of her having a pop at me when I came to bed, which in conversation turned out to be because I hadn't giraffe'd the oven properly.
It was very confusing at first, but I got used to it.

"Nose strips work allegedly"
They do work. Siren insists I wear them every night as before we tried them she'd lie awake night after night in absolute fury while I snored my head off, leaving her tired and very bloody iritated the next day until the cycle repeated itself the following night. Now we both have blissful nights asleep and nice relaxing days together lol. |

I just take myself off to the spare room now, used to go and sleep on the sofa but I could still sometimes hear from downstair. Must confess though I've been told I snore as well, but luckily Andy could sleep through a bomb going off, nothing ever wakes him the lucky sod!!! I'm just bitter and jealous. |

Thousands of people have a condition called sleep apnoea which can be very serious if untreated.
Problem is people just put up with the snoring and ignore it till its too late and you then have people having strokes heart attacks ect...I have this condition and I only found out cos my ex and the neighbours four doors down complained about my snoring.I was refered to a sleep clinic and was on my way to a very serious stroke because of oxygen starvation to the pea inside my head called a brain. In my case I have a soft windpipe that collapses when I lay down so I start to suffocate and that is why we snore because your body is trying to force more air in to feed your brain and blood...Worth getting checked out people... |

If I dont go to bed and get to sleep before hubs climbs in and starts snoring, thats it I'll be awake listenin to him..
He can snore on both sides and on his back, a push a shove a kick does help for 10mins or so then he;s off again some times worse..
I have often moved beds, but can still hear him and then I'm too far away to kick him..
So to the OP, yes I can understand how you feel like killing him |
